Guys,
Sorry if this is in the wrong area or has been covered before-

Our Club has just converted to a six lane DS Lapcounter setup, and we have bought the PCLapcounter system for race management.
However, try as we might, we cannot get the DS to connect to the PCLapcounter. I have downloaded all that I think we need from the PCLapcounter site, - we already had a Serial to USB adaptor/lead from our Scalectric RMS days (running on the same Laptop) so are using that, but all we get is the amber light on the connections screen.
I have downloaded the 'manual' for PCLapcounter, but am strugling to make any sence of it.

In addition, I am also struggling to find anywhere in PCLapcounter that will run a series of heats allowing the drivers to race on each of the six lanes. We regularly get 15 - 20 racers and on every other rms sytem we have used over the years (including Scalextric RMS) all we have had to do is enter the list of the nights drivers, tell it how many lanes are in operation and let the system allocate drivers to lanes and heats until everyone has raced on each lane. Is there anywhere in PCLapcounter that will do this?

Sorry if I have missed anything on the PCLapcounter system - None of us are great with the workings of computers, and we were hoping to just 'plug in and play'- at the moment we are looking at using the DS setup and lots of paper!
Any help/suggestions greatly received.

Thanks
Shaun.

Firstly you need to make sure you setup pc Lapcounter under the options, detection. Set as ds300 and then press go on the ds300.

Also leave the ds300 in the mode 9999 laps and just leave it like this.

You should get the ds300 tab at the bottom of your screen showing its connected.

Then go to drivers and add all drivers on to database.

Then start new race, put in your race time ie if you want 3 min races setup the segment time to 3 mins. Then press generate, this will take your to the drivers page. Select the drivers at the top of page that are going to race.

Then down below select racers race on all lanes and then click generate. This will then show on the right side the order of races.
Then click ok to return to setup race screen. Then you can click practice for a practice race or championship if you want to record the results etc.

You can also setup your own championship, track etc.

That's it really

Guys,
Thanks for the help.
We now have connection and tried to run our race meeting. We input the drivers for the night, got the 21 heats generated, set up for 3 minute races and away we went. No missed laps, everyone happy - BUT!
At the end of the 3 minutes, the race was won, but we could not get the chequered flag up. As a result we had to use the Stop Race Icon. We then found that the system would not move on to the next heat. We could use the Rotate Heat icon, but as soon as we tried to start the race it reverted back to the first heat/drivers.
Presumably we have ticked/not ticked something to finish the race after 3 minutes so the system thinks we want to rerun it, and will not move to the next heat.
Any suggestions?

Thanks
Shaun.
