I had a Dukes of Hazard scalextric set when I was a kid (must be over 20 years ago now). I've searched all over the web but I've had no luck

It was a figure8 track, around 3ft end-to-end (not track length) with the centre straight raising up to a jump at the cross-over. cars inluded were the General Lee and a cop car with working lights.

I really loved this and I'd appreciate any help I can get.
thx

I know that Scalextric never produced the Dukes of Hazzrad set. I think it was an H.O. set, possibly made by Aurora? I'm sure I've seen a few of these on ebay but as H.O. leaves me cold I didn't really pay attention.

Cheers

I think you've been a victim of the dreaded generic use of the trade name "Scalextric" to mean all slot racing products, ufb. It's a pet peeve of mine! From your description, it is an HO set-I don't remember who by- and there has been a thread complete with "action" pics posted on the forum in the past year! I just tried to search for it for you but the search facility wouldn't let me use the word "of" and only came up with this thread

Is the search only working in the new format since the upgrade, Nuro?

Surely my new elitist status
should allow me a better service from these things

This set was not made by Scalextric.

Ideal made a Dukes of Hazzard slot car and TCR (Total Control Racing) slotless set in the early 80s. So there was really two different sets, a normal slot set and one with the slotless chassis and track. The cars were a bit larger than the normal HO cars but the Charger was pretty decent. Toys-R-Us must had sold thousands and thousands of these sets.

Locating a set or the cars should be straight forward on eBay. The shipping for the set will be a bit pricey as most sets weigh a lot.

Good Luck!
