I have looked at the technical stickies threads and I am no wiser...

I have a 1.2 and 1.5 C7030 working powerbases and would like to know how easy it is to convert one or both of them to single lane pit in and out sensor pieces, whats involved, does it need a separate PSU or cable etc? How do they integrate into an APB/PC/SSDC Setup?

There are some old threads that describe how to convert an old C7030 powerbase for us as pit lane sensor. With the most recent version of SSDC supporting C7030 pit sensing, you should be OK. I think that all you need is a serial to USB cable for the C7030, and then disconnect the power to the rails on the old PB - a simple mod, documented well, but you have to find the thread!

So does this mean I need another single aux to usb cable for both the in and out sensor? Are they the same as the one I recently bought?

You'll need one C7030 aux cable. The two lanes of the PB are usually split to provide one in and one out. It's still just the one PB, though.
