Thanks guys.

The last Kesgrave meeting struggled to get to 14 attending, and then we had that weird weather with the icy roads. I spun my Saxo twice with 100yds of the hotel, but luckily the ring road was a little better, and I got there OK. Some of the guys coming from further away arrived in the hall very wide-eyed.

We knew that the scarey weather was unusual, and that normal service would soon resume. We were also confident the dip in numbers was temporary, which proved to be right as we hit 18-20 all they way to the end of the season if I recall.

I don't have the same confidence now, prove me wrong everyone and sign up

Thanks Dave. Now that HONK has it own scene any chance of getting some locals along to Sunday meets?

I'm thinking Keith S and Dave P in particular.

Incidentally, I will be representing HONK from now on. Only John O and his son Mike will race for LHORC from now on....

It could well be, but much depends on who picks what on any given day.

Andy W against Craig or Dave sounds good for example, and I am sure there will be many twists and turns.

Has your Pro-Mod arrived yet?

If you hurry you may have it in time, then you have another option. Just don't hurry and buy wrong.

If you go for the G3 make sure to ask for the stiff chassis, the standard one has too much flex for our tracks.

The HC $10 is a wide chassis though.

Lucky Bob's is a great site, but sprawling. Anyone using it should take the time to make sure they are in the correct section.....

I agree with Andy, the 3.5ohm arm is not an answer all on it's own, at least not for OW class. If you are crashing too much, and last Sunday suggests Lee is, then the lower ohm arm could be a disaster.

I have been saying for a while that a maxed-out Tyco can get the job done. The problem with those that set their stall againts the Mega eq formula was they did not want to do the work. Fair enough, but the Mega runners did.

The irony of where Marc did this is not lost on anyone either....

Lee - Broadly speaking I agree with Julian. If you are crashing more than once a minute then there is probably more lap time to be found there than looking at car changes. You proved that last time at HONK, right?

QUOTE (Julian_Boolean @ 5 Sep 2012, 19:28) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>n at EAHORC and you now need a well prepared car to do well, in that time people have done the prep work on Mega Gs but not the Tycos.

Robin was always able to show what a well built, but pretty standard, Tyco was able to do when well driven.

Marc has now started to properly look at upgrading them, and the results speak for themselves.

The previous Tyco regulars did not want to do that, or even make sure their current cars were as good as they could be. It's fairly similar to what happend when the MR1 was first being used....

I'm fairly confident on those occasions you crashed less than on the bad days.

The Don Stanley advice is solid. My aim in a final is to not be the first to crash, and when I do crash avoid crashing again until somebody else does. I also hang back in turn one on the first lap unless it is an A final, look around the room to see where the dodgy marshals are standing, lots of little things like that.

It is about a lot more than having fast cars....
