Hi Mal,
sorry to inform you at this late stage but I will have to pull out as Pams health is still poor and she has to spend some time in hospital for futher tests . Nothing too serious or life threatening but it needs sorting so its unlikley we will be back in the uk this year .
Hope every one has a good event .
If Dave Jones races this year could you ask him to give my two cars from last year to Alexis if he has room to bring them back ,no problem if he hasnt I know they are in safe hands .

All the very best

Hi gents,

Looking forward to this meeting, but it has been a little quiet with photos of what we are building and running? Come on guys, get them cameras out!

Here is my car for EB's, a Ferrari 500 F2, from the 1952 French Grand Prix. It is based on the car used in practice. Not much left to do, just finishing off the shading and washes on the driver, finishing the suspension, changing the spinners to 2-eared items and lightly weathering the exahust. Hopefully will have it done over the weekend.

I've just finished designing the dials for the car too. As I couldnt find anything else suitable, they have all been made from scratch using very simple programs on the computer, including PowerPoint 7, and a free program called Paint.net.

They will be printed on viynl, so they will be just peel and stick straight onto the dashboard.

From Left To Right, we have the Rev Counter, Fuel Guage, Oil Temperature Guage, Oil Pressure Guage, and the ACO Temperature Guage. (I think PhotoBucket has compressed them within an inch of their life, but they look good high-res!)

See you in a few weeks!
Regards
Jon

Hi Mal.

I know Bryan and Paul from Pendle will be attending the event and assume they will be wishing to join you for the meal. They dont post on here, so I thought I'd let you know on their behalf.

Sorry I cannot attend this year.

Hope you all have a successful weekend.

Regards,
Dave

Since the last photos here, I have done some more work on the Ferrari, including polishing the exhuast, fitted the suspension front and rear, fitted the guide (and tested the car). Also, I have weathered the driver and bought out the highlights and the creases in his overalls, and looks pretty good. Today I finished the windscreen which will be attached at the end of the build. Here are some new photos shot this morning:

Jon,
The F500's looking very good indeed, for once I had my race car built and running weeks ahead of the event and was very happy with its performance (for my level of performance that is) until I took some advice and changed the rear tyres for a fresh set glued and trued and now I can't get within 0.5 seconds of my previous lap times - great! I also wound up doing a last minute panic spray job for Lewis's car - so much for being prepared. Still looking forward to a week on Sunday any one else going to follow jon's lead and show pictures of their cars for this years E-B?
Cheers

Alright then.

Auto-Union Type D, inherited from the collection of the late Mike Perry of Oaklands Park fame. I believe Mike has raced this before at EB and I wanted to make sure that one of his cars got a proper entry in an open meeting. Brass strip chassis with simple motor mount and green 25k Scalextric FF "Moto-GP motor". I think the bodyshell is a Tetre Rogue job. Decals were peeling off (no top coat I suspect) so I've hand-painted the shell and am currently doing it in my favoured matt-varnish-and-lots-of-ink-weathering, none of which shows up due to the camera flash!
