Ey Up,

Owen, that is a nice gesture.

The driver looks amazing.

Likewise, looking forward to the event.

vbr Chris.
Hey Owen, I thought the distressed look was from all the crashing, I didn't realise it was deliberate!
Looking good. I hope to be trading some paint with you next weekend. I was going to China this coming week, but my meetings have been put back until the 12th, so I will be there. Ive got a week to build a new car. If its not built in time, I will have to run the Maserati from last year.

Rob

Hi Phil

I've almost finished my cars so thought I'd have a go at posting a picture.

See you all next weekend.

Cheers

Hi Robbie,

What is that car centre stage, reckon that is your #1, but what is it ??.

Sorry, but don't recognise it, Merc, Auto Union, ??.

Reason being, I am building an obscure model from those stables !!??.

Oh BuXXer, as one might say !!.

Hi Eddie,

could be I suppose, just didn't recognise it !!.

vbr Chris.
HI folks

I think Owen is correct, in that it looks like a Tertre Rouge Racing Cars body of the D Type Auto Union. The driver is certainly a TRRC product.

Cheers
Dave
Hi Wolverhampton,
Very sorry for short notice, regrettably I will not be able to attend this weekends Earlybirds meeting. Really hacked off, as some of the photos of cars entered had really wetted my appetite for the meeting, would have been worth it just as a spectator.

Hi Chris

It's a W125 as Eddie said. Based on the Dick Seaman car from the 1937 Donington Grand Prix so hopefully I haven't stolen your thunder!

Will your obscure model be ready in time and can we see a picture?

Cheers

Robbie

Hi Robbie,

Well do you know ??.

Wat am I like.

I spent two weeks prepping and building a short wheelbase Alfa 8B, the "Alfa 8 Corso".

You know, twin wire, iso fulcrum, twin torsion in-line chassis !!.

Then I printed out the Regs to check on wheel sizes, and WOW, " NO STRIPPED DOWN SPORTS CARS " !!??.

Back to the drawing board, and only 5 days to go.

Can you lend me a decent car, old chap ??.

Oh Woh is Me !!.

vbr Chris A.

Hi folks

Final testing / maintenance of the likely cars takes place tonight and then again on Thursday after racing, ahead of an early start on Friday to catch the ferry to Heysham.

See you all over the weekend!

Cheers
Dave
Hi Chris

Sorry to hear about that, can't you fit a different body? it sounds like a special chassis as I would expect from you.

It goes without saying that you can use one of my cars any time. I'll be at Wolves on Saturday and we can sort one out.

Cheers
Robbie
Robbie,

That is very decent of you.

I am working on something, as you might expect, very dissed re Alfa, but there you go, my fault for mis-reading.

Funny how regs were changed after "Trabbie" was successful, and then again after "ERA" was successful, one might justifiably become paranoid !!.

Still, looking forward to the best event of the year, see you there !!.

vbr Chris.

Hi Chris.
In fairness to Early Birds.
Mac flagged up the 'no stripped sports cars' in last years rules/Regs.
All events need to moderate 'trends' that are not in the spirit of the original intentions.
Regards Bill.
I think it goes back a bit further than that following on from my using of a Maserati A6GCS at the third running of EB, back at Strykers.

Coop
Just means that you should read the rules more than most Chris

I shall forward to seeing the Alfa on Thursday though.
