Eastlands Park Routed Digital...

Hi
Have been thinking about a routed track for a while now and as the current setup is now starting to become a little boring now seems a good time to start.

The table size I have to play with is 12ftx6ft and it will all be done on a single level, the only thing decided so far as regards to track design is that the pit area will have to be along the back straight and it must be long as I wish to have plenty of garage space.

The cars will only be scalextric and running mag free is a added bonus of going copper tape route as with them throttle control is none existent,so need to find a suitable paint for the tyres to have some sort of grip as they will be kept standard.

The track will be digital and it is my intention to sink the digital track sections into the mdf, including the pb..

I have had a quick look for layouts based on my available track size and drew a blank,so if anyone knows of any on here a link to some pics would be great.

Hi

the paddock area is now nearing completion , needs edges finishing where the grass meets the road areas and the lighting installed, just need to find the psu and some wire

Sand traps will be real red sand and held in place by double sided tape and extra firm hold hair spray

Hi

the lights are in, need to replace one bulb, but not bad as they have been rattling around in a box under the track for 18 months and previously on the old layout for 6 + years.

next up there are a few tyre walls to peg in place and some armco to place along the pit entrance lane

Very nice Ade! They disqualified the Ferrari team ? :)
Looks very alive Ade. Just the way a track should look.
Busy people both crew and spectator wise.
Great job of bringing the track to life

Loving all the details Ade, it really adds to the atmosphere.

I'm just catching up on the thread but since all the early pics have been removed or are inaccessible any chance you could post a pic showing the circuit layout?

Martin
Hi

recent build images were hosted on postimage.org and they tried the ransom thing from memory, I do however have them on hard drive so I will seek permission to edit the thread and replace the images in due course

I'm all caught up now (what an epic read!) and the videos on YouTube give a really good idea of the layout.

I'm amazed at how much scenic detail you've been able to cram in without compromising the flow of the circuit.

Kudos Ade!

Apologies if I missed it but what size is the new layout?

Martin
