Agreed! Especially as it will be on the bay in numbers for about £15 next year as people become fed up with the colour burning out their eyeballs from the shelf.

Is it really that bright a blue? Odd choice by Scalextric.

Anyway - here's another mad ebay item Click here - what are they thinking?!?

I never noticed the club car was limited, it's te 1st one I have that is, well limited to 6500. I wonder how many will stay that colour.

As for the group of cars going for £260, I notice there is an mg metro in there and we saw 2 people starting a bid at £99 for those last week ! There must be a commuter virus changing the prices of thing on eBay, shame as it never does it for stuff I sell. :)

I know how you feel, also when others buy cars cheap and when I bid it goes through the roof, ah well that's the chance you take with eBay.

Well I disagree with that so I guess you are calling me an idiot. I choose pistols for our duel sir!

It does depend on how much you want whatever it is you are bidding on. If I desperately want a car and get outbid near the end then I will sometimes chase the highest bidder. There will be a point where I think it is now too expensive though. Othertimes I will put my maximum on and if I get outbid then so be it.

You pays your money and takes your chance I reckon! I have unfortunately been caught a couple of times by "mates" schill bidding a car up to the maximum I was prepared to pay. It's hard to prove to Ebay but they are pretty good once you contact them.

And that pitifully low price I got for my Rover Marshall car MIB, now it seems I have to pay the same for a "GOOD" one. Dagnabbit!

Phil T,

How can you tell it's a mate of the seller bidding to hike up the price? I know I've had bidding wars and always assume its simply another collector, probably someone from here lol

That's just it: why will someone pay more for that car, than they would pay for it at a LHS, or even at an e-shop?!? It just beats me...

Cheers!

Fernao

EDIT: sorry... I just now noticed the difference in currencies.
But anyway, why is that Carrera car so expensive? I thought Carrera made more affordable slot cars...

Carrera is big in Germany, every year when people get a digital set for Xmas some of the will be stung by the slot virus. And some of them are collectors who want all the cars

So stash your Digital132 cars, some of the them will raise in value, especially 997's. My guess is that the current digital cars, any brand, will be the want-to-haves in the 2020-ties

The yellow Nissan gt was only available in digital and s no longer available unless you find a shop or e shop that suddenly finds stock. For this reason the car goes up in value, I have a few carrera cars I've seen going for the £60-£70 mark on my shelf that I paid half tat for, or less. As cars get damaged, destroyed they become rarer so go up in value. Carrera cars are more affordable when they are in the year of release or close, after that the climb in value the same as any other decent make as long as the market wasn't flooded with the model that didn't sell.
