Here's one of my DPR transits. I wanted to make them easily distinguished from each other when racing. Here's my first attempt...

QUOTE (Michael363672 @ 16 Oct 2011, 23:13) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Any pics of how you converted these ?

Hi Michael - if you PM me your email address I will send you a PDF of the conversion process.

QUOTE (Wraith @ 16 Oct 2011, 23:20) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Fantastic,

Thanks - it should bring a few smiles (and grimaces) to racers' faces

He's one I converted using a SCX Nascar chassis and SCX MK2 wheels to lower it.

And this just needs the chassis putting on..

I have also put a SCX Pro Nascar chassis on one for racing !

These ones we made SCX Digital for Gaydon this year..

I wanted to drive the dark blue transit at Gaydon but the guy wouldn't let me

How do they handle compared to the nascar they are based on?

LOVE your decals by the way

Only one word for that video - Awesome!!!

I didn't realise there was a current series. Looks like close racing too.

Love it, thanks for posting!

They handle ok !

I'm no racer so sure you could put weight in the right places and get them spot on.

The one I put the SCX Pro Nascar in snakes up the straight when you power on ! may not be good for racing but it sure looks great as you do it lol

Never knew about them racing Transits.

Yes mine handle surprisingly well as well.

Being all plastic they don't suffer the weight problems of diecast conversions.

Far from being top heavy they sit on the track well. The top is mainly full of air anyway.

I found the F430 mine are based on did 6.0 seconds around my old track and the transit conversion did it in about 6.4-6.5 seconds. Having said that the Ferrari deslots more than the Transit (maybe due to higher speed) but when the Transit overcooks it, it tends to stay in the slot and stall slightly before coming back. I'm not taking any credit for this though - it is just how it turned out!

Due to popular demand I am making decals for the camera van available. PM me for details.

The decals are printed on printable vinyl from an Inkjet so will need sealing with a clear acrylic to protect them.
