Hi guys
Thought you'd like a preview of a new development we are taking foward. We will be producing a limited run of 10 upgraded cars as part of a Tucker RS series. They will bear a Tucker RS badge and each car will have its own numbered signed certificate. Work is in progress but just to give you a taste of whats in store below are pictures of the prototype. Your thoughts and input on the concept are welcomed - we will make an announcement on the details once they are finalised and we expect them to be available in Oct/Nov.
I would say that if you are going to do this and push them to the Public as increased performance SCALE cars - then you have to do it right and be sure there is a 'real' increase in performance or you will become just another 'bandwagon jumper' in a field of thousands.
I have tried this in a basic mode on Ebay and so have many others, though granted NOT with my own custom look 'sport style' badge
It did not give any particularily better return on time and money invested for me than it did for the others.
I am NOT knocking this idea Matt', I think there IS a niche for it, I am just saying be careful to get it right first time.
For example - lose the outsized wheels. Things like that WILL matter.
Are you going for 'with magnet' or 'without magnet' tuning ?
I would also like to know what factors made you choose an SCX Astra over a Scalextric 'Sport' one? I would have thought the implied additional 'Kudos' of owning a Super Tuned Scalextric LTD ED 'Tucker RS' Sport Astra would have more appeal to the masses ?
Plus those Scalextric Astras need it more than the SCX ones!
I don't think the lights in that car are permenant ones. I am assuming it the motor is simply disconnected and power applied?
I use this trick to photograph lit cars.
That said, if anyone wants their cars with lights fitted but feels they don't have the skill.. mail me. I have done more than a few of these conversions and there are not many cars I can't do or won't tackle.
This goes for Retail Outlets too, I would be willing to talk about prefitting Overdrive light kits to cars.
Overdrive also offer this service direct on most makes of car.
