Hi Everyone,

Ive been cautious on a second run until the dust had settled and and faults disclosed by the expert panel of Scorpius users around the planet.

The only concern to date is the dongle tuning which is a quick fix by a RF specialist here in Oz.

Car decoder all ok

Lane Brain lane changer electronics all OK

Controller, minor tweaking of max and min trigger post holes to suit 2mm dia. bolts. Also addition of slot in PCB perhaps to be able to cable tie battery leads to PCB to strengthen. Cut out for LCD screen on sticker needs a tweak of a millimetre or 2.

Considering the complexity of the project I was amazed the dongle was the only real issue, which I was able to organise a work around in any case.

Now just trying to gauge demand on the second production run as Im fast running out of stock, in fact only controllers and dongles left.
Please PM me here or email me at: [email protected] with details on quantities required. Please state wether or not you are a Club Scorpius member.

From the time I place the order the run will take around 6 weeks and a further 2 weeks to assemble controllers prior to posting.

Were getting real close to the next run. Email or PM me with an approximate order so I can plan numbers. Just retuning the dongle this week and off we go.

Hello Rick,

My name is Mike Carlini. I am a Club Scorpius member. I have not ordered anything yet. I just finished my basement area for the track and have the table finished. I am just about complete with my cad design of the layout. I am in the process of routing a test track that I was getting ready to order the following to hook up on test track and make sure I understood how everything worked before I finialized my design and began routing my final track:

1 Controller
1 Lane Brain
1 Dongle
1 Car Decoder
1 RMS
2 or 3 Lane Changer Assemblies

Eventual plans are for:

4 to 6 Controllers
10 to 15 Lane Brains
10 to 15 Lane Changer Assemblies

What is your estimate for new controllers to be ready and when will they be online in the Web Shop to be able to order.

Also, do you have any Cad Drawings of the Lane Changer Assemblies, posted anywhere in the Website or elsewhere?

My Layout incorporates an HO train layout into it. I know the scale is to small, compared to 1/32, but the smaller size let me get a lot more track into the layout. I put the train into the layout for my son to have exposure to both Trains and Slots, and figured the trains would be more fun for him, if they were tied in with the slot racing. The theme, I am setting up, is sort of a muscle car theme of taking the 69 GTO out on a friday night and racing some friends in their 69 Chevelle's and Charger's out on country roads. I am planning on having the train cross the race track at 1 section and was wondering if it would be possilble to use your system to hook up some sensors to know when train is going to be crossing and automatically kill cars when they reach area near crossing. I am planning on having train run digitally and am hoping to be able to preprogram routes so that I could set how many times Train would actually cross track during a race. I am not sure how the Lane Brain senses where the cars are on the track. I am pretty sure it would be possible to program the scenerio I am looking for, but not quite sure yet. I am thinking that if I hooked up enough sensors, that not only could I use your system to stop the cars, but also managed where they stopped and in what lane, so they did not all pile into each other. I am thinking, that if I planned correctly, I would like all the cars during a Train crossing, to be forced into the left lane and stop, all lined up in a single line, sorta closer to real life, in that you would not probably line up in both lines for train crossing, assuming, that in real life their would be a car coming in the other lane from the other direction after train crossed. When my son gets older, I would probably elimate all this, and leave it up to the individual driver to determine if they could beat the train, but until then, I would rather my son not ruin every slot car by constantly running it into the train.

I am sorta new to all of this, I have been working on my plans for quite some time now, and doing a lot af research on both slots and trains, but I believe, I am finally ready to start CNC routing my layout and hopefully be able to figure out all of the electronics as I go along. My son is getting to where he handle a slot car descent enough, that I need to get started and finish to hopefully keep his interest in both hobbies.

Any thoughts or any information you think might be helpful, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike Carlini

Hi Mike,
Sounds like you need a custom program made, which would cost a packet. Sorry cant help you with model railroad stuff yet.
Email me for drawings.
The next production run we hope is January 2012.
