I`ve just put a big extension on my 1/40 scale Jouef layout.
A whole new track section along with a Jouef humpback bridge has been added, as have some hard to find radii curves.
Scenery is being kept basic, just like the old Jouef/Champion brochures of the 1960s.
The pit buildings, press boxes , timekeepers hut & all standing figures are from the original Corgi Silverstone Series which were sold in conjunction with Champion/Jouef in the 1960s(the seated figures in the Grandstands are modern).
The two Grandstands are vintage Wrenn152. Wrenn slot cars were a lot smaller than Jouef. However, the buildings were out of scale & fit nicely on a Jouef layout.
I`ve added another two vintage diecasts onto the layout. Both Corgi from 1966. A Smiths Karrier ice cream van & a Smiths Karrier Snack van.
Cheers,
Kev.

I saw this layout today & I'm not normally into this small old rubbish
, but it does look very good. I would prefer to see some Kyosho cars on it
.

Kev told me the cost of the right hand side grandstand
, all I can say is cracking investment.

I know very little about this scale, but I bet its one of the best collections in the world.

Nice job mate.

Cheers
Paul.

What a collection and layout! I never tire of seeing pics of this collection. The track, buildings and cars are so charming, stepping into that room must be like a time machine and for me that it was slots are all about.

Us vintage racers are a dying breed.

Hi Kev

Nice to see your retro Jouef set-up.
It's back to the '70s here a bit at the moment.
I would kill, for my old red/black/white Scaley lap-counter back.

Good to see it all cared for & working.
Don't like to see stuff like that in boxes on 'collectors' shelves.
It's meant for RACING !

Nice mobile snack-bar.

Cheers

Very nice Kev, so evocative!
I recall a pleasant afternoon last year when I was privileged to have a drive of the old track and what struck me was how well the cars ran and how quickly you forget you're running a smaller scale.
Thanks for the post,

Dave

Thanks lads.
Jouef slot cars are lovely Happy. You could pick up a few quite easily because you live in France.

Really nice Kev, and that catering van is gorgeous... Coca cola, how exotic!
I really like how the barriers fit the slots on the top surface of the track too.
Cheers,
Richard

ps: Glad to see you've worked out how to get things in focus too... new camera for Christmas?

New camera for me birthday in January Richard!

The "one piece" crash barriers you see were only made between 1963 & 1968.
They were quite fragile & the legs tended to snap. As a result they are hard to find.
It`s always best to glue these barriers into place.

Kev

Hi Kev

Come on dude, with that new camera for your birthday...

...WE WANT MORE PICS !!!

Lets have some more close-ups, like you did with the classic snack-bar !

You used to have links under your posts, to NERCS ( which is how come I saw your cool club track ).

How about a link under your posts, to all things, cool, & Jouef ! ( kiss my ! ).

( might help people find Jouef stuff to look at )

I wanna see close-ups of EVERYTHING !

Come on Kev, get clickin'

Cheers

Si.

At MRW as you know, we like close-ups of the lot; all these overviews are OK, but lets see the action at the kerb-side !

Thanks Si.
If you go on the 1/43 section of SF you will see all my Jouef cars on there.
Main Scaley track comes out of hibernation next week, so I`ll try some close ups of that. All the 1960s accessories are on there!
Cheers,
Kev.
