Normal service was resumed last night as Jim won, but needed to set the fastest lap of the evening during the A Final in order to fend off another excellent performance by Alex.

The results were: -

1 - Jim - 25 pts + 1pt (fastest lap at 6.903s)
2 - Alex - 23 pts
3 - Roger - 21 pts
4 - Alan - 20 pts
5 - Peter - 19 pts
6 - Oli - 18 pts
7 - Alf - 17 pts
8 - James H - 16 pts
9 - Chris - 15 pts
10 - Mike - 14 pts (no comment!)
11 - Richard - 13 pts
12 - Roy - 12 pts
13 - Dave - 11 pts
14 - Keith - 10 pts

Next week: Pro-Saloons

Well done Jim, a fine drive with a very fast car

Nice to see the F1/indy cars - especially the classic McLaren (Jim's and Mike's - another "no comment"
) and my Fly March 761 - finally got it raceable after 3 years of fiddlin' - Blue Tack is great for weight and steering/suspension damping

A quick and dirty analysis gave some interesting results ...

An outside lane - Red - gave the best overall results (i.e. number of 1sts, 2nds etc) for the heats
An inside lane - Green - gave the worst overall results for the heats

However, Green lane gave the most number of fastest laps for the heats, closely followed by Red lane.

So, overall, Red lane was probably the lane to be in for the finals.

My guess would be that as long as you could negotiate the tight bend at the end of the flyover, then the generally larger radius curves of the rest of Red lane favoured the F1/Indy cars.

Hopefully this shows that there isn't a distinctly 'bad' lane.
