No brakes is what many clubs around our way run on normal race nights - anything to mess with your mind really!

Last place was already taken a few posts back - Alan.

I will add you to the reserve and it's very likely to be fine - i know one of the local Farnham crew may not be able to attend.

Brakes conversations are interesting, we will consider and advise.

Following our regular Wednesday night racing i have agreed with Lawrence that Lawrence and I will run our cars/classes on the Saturday evening to allow more entrants on the Sunday.

For the time being the first two reserves now have confirmed places;

49. Paul Roach
50. Simon James

I will endevour to encourage other Farnham regulars to compete on the Saturday evening also to release more places as we still have two on reserve.

Posted this in the Pendle Slot Rally thread, but probably better hear;

In terms of Hotels/B&B's in Farnham

There are not that many cheap ones!

One we have used a few times before (for guests) is;
http://www.mulberryfarnham.co.uk/

It's a B&B with a pub right next to the train station, about a ten min walk to the club.

Another (not one i have used before);
http://www.1parkrow.com/

Another is the Bush Hotel - it's less than 5 mins from the club (it actually backs onto it);
http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-6621-m...tel/index.shtml

In terms of eating - lots and lots - many pizza places, lots of good curries and plenty of others.

If anyone is planning to come down on Saturday evening then do say and we can meet up for a drink - probably easiest to simply come to the club (which is open until 11pm) - we are liekly to be around until quite late either setting up or running our stages (to allow more people to run on Sunday).

Sorry i didn't see this conversation taking place as i was on holiday.

You are all right - in terms of fixing specific cars to dates is almost impossible so if in doubt ask - which is what you have done.

For the purposes of SRGB 2012;
Renault Five Turbo's and Renault Five Maxi Turbo's (Like Fly, SCX, Teamslot versions) are in 80's Rally Class;

Renault Five's like this;

Are in Classic rally class, but don't forget to add a navigator!

And Spirit Renault 5's are in Pro Stock;

As an aside;
The Renault Five Alpine was announced in 1976 (sold in the UK as the R5 Gordini) - this car type had success on the Monte in 1978 - in slot terms - this is the older Exin/SCX/Altaya version.

Then in 1978 Renault displayed the R5 Turbo a year later it debuted on the Italian Giro d'Italia as a prototype. The R5 Turbo was homologated into group 4 in 1980 (Sept).

The Renault 5 Maxi Turbo was homologated into Group B later in the 80's.

And as if to show the problem of classes once again;

This Renault 5 from 'Octane' which represents the Renault 5, Tour De Course, "Ragnotti" from 1990!

Normally i would say this would be fine in the 80's class, but as luck would have it i know these run on MSC Montecarlo chassis so it's in Pro-Stock.

See clear as mud!

Sorry for the slight delay, please see below time sheets for you to download and print prior to the event.

There are 9 planned stages plus a practise stage (should space allow).

Some with/without brakes, some low powered transformers, some very tight and twisty, some serious elevation changes, smooth - a mixture - all will be marked with info.

A gentle reminder to all;
No running starts - static start from the line on all stages - always.
No advanced practise on the actual stages - no installation laps - if we have space we will provide a practise stage.
As always at SlotRallyGB events - you police yourselves within groups - if in any doubt ask me for a ruling or clarification.

Doors open 0830 for a prompt 0900 start.
Kitchen will be open for breakfast and drinks etc.

See you all next week!

No one asked about the water!!!!!

We were thinking distilled beer to give a more muddy effect, but when we tried it with the coco powder we got some sort of choc beer with a hint of oil and stopped work - more testing/drinking required!
