Thats interesting Gareth, Tbh i never used to use brakes as a home user.

For circuit racing it must prove a massive disadvantage if you used to no brakes and then go to a club with brakes where everyone is using truspeeds with an adjustable brake.

But for rallying i don't suppose its a problem, might just catch some of the faster cars out.

1 space left at time off posting this Martyn haha! but no doubt a few will drop out - oxford filled in first day but there ended up being 2 free spaces on the day of the event.

brakes were on all the stages last year, or has my mind deleted the horrible experience of no brakes.

Plea for brakes on all stages basically - if you don't want/like brakes you can just snip the brake wire on your controller and its sorted.

Not sure if anyone else found that Cherwell 1 at the Oxford round had no brakes for me - it was just a quick dab of throttle and then watch the car coast 6 ft and round the corner - never felt in control of my cars on that stage.

Hi Gareth.
I second Matt's plea for brakes on all stages, please. If clubs choose to run in the 19th centuary without brakes, so be it...but not in a national championship!
If Cherwell 1 was the horror with the 'dead strip' (actually a full double dead section!) then I suffered on that one as well.
The other Cherwell, was as nice a stage as any in the rally, full marks for that one.

I`m quite happy to run on some stages with no brakes it adds variety to the event and championship. The organisers can decide which way the want to run the event and if brake fade occurs on some stages so be it. If drivers are advised which stages will be sans brakes, then drive accordingly, or check the car has brakes before tackling the stage.

There is a good case for you to set up a usefull S/F 'Poll'.
Ask all registerd SRGB drivers to respond to this question;
Do you want SRGB rounds to have;
Option 1. all stages wired with brakes.
Option 2. all stages without brakes.
Option 3 some without brakes (state how many)
My bet is if you get 40 + of the registered drivers to answer, a vast majority will go for option 1!

Yeh I thought some of the tracks at Oxford were a bit bumby

I don't care if they have brakes or not, makes absolutely no difference as it's the same for everyone

By the way, I would like to come to this one but really can't afford the fuel costs, I can afford to share though so if someone has a seat spare and is coming past junction 29 of the M1 then let me know

I had brakes on Cherwell 1, had to stop at the top of the hill so as not to his the hedge on the first decent.

I think we should all race what we got put on, I HATED the badly joined ninco raid, but every other car I competed against had to tackle it too.

I'm actually in favour of water splashes, talc, cocoa powder etc. would add to the excitement and stop Tarmac rally cars (such as ninco 911s) having too much of an advantage.

At the end of the day, the hosting club should be encouraged to vary the stages as much as possible during an event. Oxford had a good variety in their mix.

Pasiro - if you can get to Northampton (just off J15) on the M1 happy to drive you the rest of the way to Farnham

Re brakes - prefer with but will drive anything

Cherwell 1 - was the smooth flowing routed one with the excellent timing system and oil cans to catch out the over excuberent - I think it was just me then, might have to double check my controller!!

Thanks, I think I can manage Northhampton, used to go down there quite regularly with Radio Controlled trucks
