How much would you sand off a Ninco guide to run on all the tracks with old Scalextric as the base depth, that would govern how low you can go!

Another question, I use a Truspeed throttle and I need a standard parma for the tracks that run in reverse, I would say for an NC5 ish motor.

Ta very much
I don't bother sanding down Ninco guides, I just run the braids a bit thicker.

Parma 45 ohm or 60 ohm work well with NC5, which one you choose depends on taste, I used to use a 45 but bought a 60 at Pendles and find that better for me.

I don't use my Truspeed for rallying. On the Mountain Stage it goes immediately to full power and stays there - not even the 'kill' button makes a ha'penth difference. I've got a Parma 45 that works OK for me.

I've never had a problem running Nincos on Scaley/SCX track. The seaside stage is SCX using a Rally Chrono, basic layout won't differ much from this:

Due to storage issues I can't make it elevated, but it will have plenty of novelties that will be sitting on the day! Once it's on the base and painted there will be walls, farmhouse, beach huts, figures, tents and a special little something, all being well...

Will the "special something" be a wave machine and you have to judge your lap top avoid the incoming surf? !!

Thanks for the info, now I can start tuning my cars and adding lead if needed.
No worries Phil!

Jamie - ssshhhh! You promised not to let the cat out of the bag!

Here's the farmhouse - although I think it's the little B&B in Blur's song 'Stereotypes':

Some of the spectators' vehicles (well it is Farnham - what were you expecting?!?
):

And the first of the beach huts...

I suggest using a different sensor than the standard one with the SCX Chrono as a lot of cars won't trigger the reed switch. The base unit just needs a short circuit on it's two sensor wires to trigger.

Thanks Julian, although I think it's probably a bit beyond me. We'll have a stopwatch instead I think!
Gareth, can you remove me from the list, It appears that I have to attend a family party on that sunday, and it's in the opposite direction!
Simon James
Well Driver #8, I have a Ninco timer I can bring rather than a stopwatch.

Chris
Thanks Simon for letting us know;

Tony Squires has now been moved from reserve to a confirmed place - Tony can you confirm you can attend.
I can definitely confirm that I will attend. Thanks for adding me to the list.

I think Teamslot Renault 5 will be in 80's.
Can cars that are legal for the 80s class also run in classic then?
I thought R5s were 80s too -oops, been misclassifying it in the club rallies.
I thought the R5 did not run until 1980, but Gareth is an expert at these things. It must of run pre-launch at least once then.
According to Wiki it didn't come R5 Turbo didn't come out until 1980 which means it has to be 80's, doesn't it?
Unless it's a Renault 5 and not a turbo, in which case it could be 70's, I bet it says on the box which rally and when, if Lee still has it
