Good luck with that Mr G - look forward to seeing how it turns out...
Yup I'm a pretty slick fellow

This is one of those times I wish I had a mini lathe and mill. I'll just have to make
do with my Dremel.

Al, it's gotta be the easiest centers you'll ever do.
Well, not exactly, take a closer look at the holes, they are not just round holes, the are more the shape of a Slot Car motor Can.Flar top and bottom with rounded ends sort of.

Boy,you must have greased that wheel up pretty good to get your Resin slug out.Resin sticks to Aluminum really really well.

Of course,if I made the inserts, then I would be forced to make some 13"wheels to go with them.

`Wasn't hard really. I used a stub of an axle I had laying around inserted
partially through the wheel with about 3/13" sticking out the dished end. I then
coated it and the dished end of the wheel with a mix of 50/50 vaseline and
mineral spirits. I let it dry for a few minutes as I mixed up the resin which I
poured into the wheel. Once the resin set up, I loosened the axle stub and
tapped out the slug.

Of course, if I made the inserts, then I would be forced to make some 13"wheels to go with them.

"I feel your pain..."

Let me know when you have a set to go I'll order them.
As a
matter of fact I think I could use a complete set of them on my Airfix/scratch
builts XKE too!

Progress is... progressing!

Here are the current shots of my 312 project. The decals look pretty decent although I think I could have done a better job matching the color.

I'm still working at the the wheel centers and will post them when I have something to show for my efforts.

Very nice Greg, Jacky Icyx looks hard at work at the wheel.
