From Scalextric Start set C1273, apparently on the boat at the moment.

See here: link

Wheels are huge! Finish is superb and it is fast. This is a robust car (with clipped in separate window for some bizarre reason) and it is robust as it got hit a few times in racing. Motor is standard machabuchi. Single mounting point for the magnet though we ran it without magnet. Guide blade has a lot of strengthening around and has limited travel, this is not going to break even if abused.

Lovely car from the cars 2 movie. It made me smile. Actually, come to think of it, it made him smile!

Anyone want pictures of the chassis or anything? Or is this too high brow?

So people look at you strangely as well, eh?

New spoiler, piston cup instead of rustezee on the bonnet, different flames, world grand prix on spoiler and rear

bumper ointment gone, powered by allinol instead

No DPR (well it is a Start car) but no LED hole for digitalising like the rest of the start cars have. Plenty of room for sticking a chip though. Note guide stops.

The car drifts quite nicely without a magnet on sport track. The tyres are very grippy.

QUOTE (Dickie @ 21 Jul 2011, 15:45) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Do you know if they are making any racing partners for him other than the F1 dude?

I understand that Hornby have the rights to make a handful of characters, but in 1/32 they only plan to do the set. I guess if it is a roaring success, and at £100 I can't see how it won't be, then they might rethink this.

Maybe there should be a new thing on SSDC, Cars2 mode where the cars argue with each other all round the track....
