It sounds like a good time was had by all! This is pretty much the format of the ISRA World Championship races. It works well, certainly from a cost saving perspective in terms of travelling and accommodation, as well as from the organisational aspect. The only problem that I have with this format is that, generally, home club drivers do have an advantage.
It's great to see slot racing in South Africa has become so popular again! I remember the national races back in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when entries numbered 80 to 100 drivers! It was hectic, to say the least!
