I managed to find and buy the Marcos, so it is just the Panoz and Viper left.

Paulh - I am also not a shelf queen collector but this series sort of got to me. Once you have a couple you might as well try for the lot

They all get a few rounds on the track once in awhile and make a good talking point.

If you DO decide to sell the Viper and Panoz, let me know. If not happy hunting!

i know what u mean my collecting started with the viper and has just progressed from there im afraid to admit it mine are all shelf queens just to look at and
over its the colour i think i do not like the gaugemaster logo on the newer models (why is this )makes em look a little tacky
dont get me wrong i am not just a collector i use a lot of my cars but the fly uk ltd edition range sits in the stands im afraid all dressed up with nowhere to go!

Thanks to the sharp eye of MK Escort I have found the remaining two at Pendles !

Thanks for thinking to let me know mate.

Great prices too, compared to some places I have seen them in the past.

So Swiss, how close to that expected market
value did you have to go to, to get the Viper? (Too many "tos", surely!)

Actually it was around a third of the £300 I heard one go for.

I guess simply trusting in Ebay is a bad move

My suggestion is to go to the dealers we all know and trust first! Especially for those new to the Hobby. Ask us here for links to good, dependable shops before wasting money on Ebay.

Sound advice, Swiss!

Though I must admit to being guilty of feeling smug when I see things going for crazy prices on there. That Escort Mexico that sold for a four figure sum, had me calculating that I am sitting on about 20 grands worth

In fairness it is possible to pick up some bargains on Ebay, self discipline is the biggest requirement!

Also true but you then need a basic knowledge of the market and pricing first as well.

Damn! I've been paying in cash, but then I lack discipline. Witness this weekend's purchase of another Fly 917 set! The next Porsche meet at Teacups Raceway is going to be a BIG event.

Damn straight. FLY Panoz for £14 inc. postage. Yay!

And then I went and bought a powerbase that was useless to me. The rough with the smooth I suppose
