Has anyone managed to true a set of FLY tyres? IMHO those little buggers overheat too easily and do not respond to applied abrasive material - they won't be shaved down. This is not so much a problem on my Lister Storms and Corvette C5R because I've found plenty of alternatives (thanks guys
) However, the Zakspeed Capris have larger rearwheels. Yes, ppr do some replacements I think, but I'd like to keep the original FLY wheels - they are beautiful.
I've tried repeated cleanings with lighter fluid after each "truing" session
but I'm not sure that I'm actually getting anywhere.

nope! lol

the capri tyres are bloody brilliant though,

put some lighter fluid on the sandpaper to wet it to make it more abrasive and also keeps it cool, then start truing, yes it makes a mess but it seems to work ish for me, then heat em so they start to melt clean and use..

Try spinning them up and cutting off the top with a very sharp blade. Slide it in at the side (never thought I'd see myself writing that) and keep the blade oiled. You'll be done in no time. BTW. Fly tyres are just carp. I wish more people did rubber replacements for them as silicones are (quite rightly) banned at our club.
