New Muira great. Now all we need is Hornby to re-issue the old mini so we can have 'real' Italian Job set next Christmas.

Completists can buy Alfa Guilietta police cars from Highway 32.

You pays yer money, you make your choice. I find the Scalextric GT 40 goes better than the Fly version. But, found a flaw with the Scalextric chassis as it splits by the rear wheel nearest to the gear. Not just on mine but on at least five to date, other members at Phoenix.

Talking of the Italian job. I highly recomend the British GT Championship meetings to all interested in Mini racing, no not the BMW, real Mini. Not only do you also get the F3 and others but the Mini boys go for it big time. I also noticed a coach used by one of the lads which is converted to have a ramp at the back. Minis go in the back and team in the front part. Will get picture when season starts. If you do go mobile me 07949 656577 and I`ll get you into the pits etrc where I`ll be with the Ultima with Master Motorsport. Can`t miss us. Me in my shorts and the most amazing blue machine with bloody great sticker says PHOENIX SCALEXTRIC CLUB on it. Seeya there!

The FLY GT40 isn't the same as the one Scalextric has scheduled for 2004. It's the same one as the limited german edition.

You can't argue that FLY is copying Scalextric's liveries since this particular one was announced by FLY since the beginning (some years ago !)

Yes we all know how many years since Fly announced the GT 40. I`m not anti Fly by any means but looking at the pictures as indicated yet agin it`s mostly pics of the real thing and most of the cars announced are still not with us in the model form yet. I hope they do appear in GB soon as there are a few there that I`m gona go for! (understatement as always but just in case the wife is looking over my shoulder! "oh hello Dear...).

Ditto here. In fact I spent a wee while last night transferring all the guts of my Sport GT40 to a new undertray that just dropped through the letterbox courtesy of slotcity.co.uk . We'll see how well that one lasts ups now, although when it was running before it was pretty damned good! Also took the opportunity to prise Mr Bighead from his seat and repaint him - looks a lot better now.

I think Adrian may well be interested. I`ve kept one of the damaged chassis to send to Hornby. the others I glued but they will not last thru racing season. The car was awesome before It broke.

Yep my mistake, I can see now that it's black/red/gold not black/red/black - I thought it was just a reflection on the bodywork. I might break my 'no Flys unless reduced to clear' rule for that one - I think the Scalextric German Ltd Edition is absolutely beautiful but my other rule is 'no cars unless raceable!' and the prices on eBay make it definately non-raceable!
