Hope they re-attach the spinner to the front wheel


I thought that Carrera were the ONLY licensed (by Mattel) Ferrari slot model makers from June onwards?

Or is this a 'special' because they have to get it sold quick quick or it has to be destroyed?

I'm guessing that because the "F" word is absent from the packaging and there is no little yellow badge with a black horse on it affixed to the model, then that is how Flyslot have circumvented Carrera's exclusive deal.
In addition, it may be released as a "kit", which also would appear to flex the contract.. luckily for us


Think this may be another for my small Mecom Racing collection.....

Greenman, your cars are awesome.
Nice Fly car that Ferrari.
With regards to that model. Even though it has no Ferrari badges on, is it still not illegal from a licencing point of view? After all it`s still obviously a Ferrari!
Thanks to the clever bods who pointed out the missing spinner, cos I could have looked at the photo forever & a day without noticing!!

I just received the Flyslot green Piper 250LM (very nice model btw), and the F word is conspicuously missing, just as you say.
The little yellow badge is there though, but without the prancing horse!
This blue Sebring version will be added to the stable. The Flyslot 250LM is such a nice car - better proportioned than the Racer editions and it runs really well.

Ermmm... perhaps I should put an "RTR Racer" in bold font... It's a Racer. The Lola is a Howmet TX casting... The GS coupe is a Revellogram body on a scratch built brass chassis the roadster is Revellogram again... this time on a stock chassis

That is correct. It is not illegal to copy the design as long as the F word does not appear on anything, the car or the packaging etc. And as long as the Prancing "H" emblem does not appear on anything, then everything is above board. There is nothing stopping me from painting the Mona Lisa and selling copies. As long as I dont try and copy the original artists name at the bottom. If I sign my copy of the Mona Lisa, Rick1776, then all is above board.

Are you sure about that?
I'm 99% sure that's incorrect persuant to the UCC and legislation of any developed country.

That being said, it's a lovely car and great reporduction!
I'm not sure why, but I prefer classic slot cars while driving new(ish) real cars.

I have tried some newer slot cars but it just doesn't feel right.
Anyway... Great job

I thought in the UK at least that there is a civil offence of 'passing off' - making a reproduction of something that pretends to have slight differences so as not to infringe copyright/licensing laws, but which is clearly the same thing, for example, a Ferrari 250 shaped item. Also Rick1776 if you could paint a few Mona Lisas the world will be beating a path to your door!
