I recently made an impulse ebay purchase of an old Scalextric Capri and fancied trying to do a cheap and cheerful conversion to a rally car. If possible, I want to reproduce a real car that has appeared in the RAC but, despite a fair bit of internet searching, I haven't been able to track down pics of an obvious candidate. I'm beginning to wonder whether Capris were ever rallied at this level!!

Any thoughts, suggestions, advice or photos would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

you're not wrong!

Thanks for the replies so far. I've also come across this one

I believe it's from the 1976 RAC, driven by Roger Hancock and Keith Lay. I like this as it fits with my favourite period (mid to late 70's) and is RAC (not quite sure why I've imposed this requirement on myself, but I have). However, there's not enough to go on really in terms of sorting out decals. Does anyone know any more about this car and/or have any other pictures?

If not, I may end up going down a fantasy livery route. I do like the white/blue livery of the safari rally car in the link Bigtone posted.

Cheers
