This one? #001

QUOTE One of the most famous sweeper cars in Irish rallying
2.8 Capri (FJI 8008).

This car was used in all the major international rally's from the mid 80's to the early2000's.

Lots of decals though

The car is still being used now for spectator control.

I still like the Irish one. It has the sunroof open!

I did a 12? car rally once way back when with Bucks Motor Club on a Wednesday evening from either the Harrow at Bishopstone or The hermit at Ford. It was a while ago! Anyway it would have been the one with the biggest parking lot. 12-car rules state that the maximum average speed is 30-mph. Not easy on narrow country roads.

Discretely, behind a fully kitted Twin- Cam Escort, we arrive a close second back at the pub carpark in my ambulance glass, black Cooper S with the Webasto sun roof open and the music blaring. As one of the guys from the Escort, in his Nomex-type suit, walked past us he said "Who the feck are you? You've been following us for the last five miles" We said "Yes we have. We are on the same event and, as locals, we knew where you were going so we simply followed you.
Great fun.
