Try a search for Nevada Shelby American Automoble Club GT40.
There's a picture of P1040 there. note the three ID lights on the roof.

If you have Ronnie Spains book theres a good colour picture of it there too.

Good luck Allan

Top picture is P1040 Scuderia Filipinetti Sutcliffe/Spoerry Red & White 1966 Lemans.

Bottom Black and white smaller picture is P1006 Ford Advance Vehicles Ireland/Whitmore pale Green 1965 Lemans.

Note Three ID lights on roof for P1040. One ID light on roof for P1006.

Central White stripe on P1040; no stripe at all on P1006.

P1006 was the first GT40 to have the definative nose. And I was lucky to get a ride in it around Silverstone.

Allan! Fantastic! But the car on the small picture... is it really the P1040 Scuderia Filipinetti Sutcliffe/Spoerry Red & White 1966 Lemans? No lights? No stripe?
