It was a night of mixed fortunes in the F/Libra class as we shall see. The basic rules for the class are a hard body and rubber tyers everything else is free choice. There were 8 of us to race in two finals. In the "B" final was Josh, Sandy, Ralph and Sue, Ralph went into the lead from Josh, Sandy and Sue and after the 1st segment it was Ralph 1 lap up on Josh who was 1/2 lap up on Sandy who was 1 lap up on sue and apart from Josh pulling within 1/2 lap of Ralph it stayed the same with Ralph 1st, Josh 2nd, Sandy 3rd and Sue 4th. In the "A" final Brian, Ian, Steve and Dave. It was obvious from the start it was going to be a tough tussle between Ian and Brian as there was nothing in it with the cars. At the end of the 1st segment Ian had the upper hand with a 3/4 of a lap lead over Brian who was 1 lap up on Steve who was 1 lap up on Dave, at the end of the 2nd segment Brian had pulled back the 3/4 of a lap and now led by 1/4 of a lap with Ian 3 laps up on Steve who was 1 lap up on Dave. In what became the hardest fought segment it was Ian who pulled back until he was only 1/00th of a lap behind Brian with Steve now 4 laps down on Ian and Dave 2 laps down on Steve. It was all set up for a grand finale but it turned out to be a bit of an anti climax as Brians car went into another lane with the inevitable trip to the fence and a few laps later a rear tyre came off the hub all of which lost Brian time he had no hope of getting back as Ian kept it all together for the win. The driver of the night must go to Ian in what believe is his 1st win, but Dave is worth a mention coming 4th with his revamped Mini Metro pocket rocket. The top 3 were Ian, Brian and Steve.
