Hi all.
I've recently finished redesigning my track and am now at the stage of scenery. I've decided to go for a race track/formula one type track. However I'm in need of inspiration, and so ive created this topic in the hope that some of you can post your race track circuits to help me.

Thanks Joe

years ago somebody wanted a 4 lane track, I made this lay out.........and build it once with some crossings so tha i became an extended 2 lane track. Not bad and pretty fast too

its quite a big track build in carrera pieces. and I did the left bridge as a tunnel........less different heights

I can think of a few

As I scrolled down through the pages of tracks and scenery here are some builders I remember:
Bam , Camber , downtowndeco , tedski , and jmghF1.
I am sure there are many others......maybe they'll speak up

Was also reading about a new F1 track in Edmonton Alberta that would be a cool build.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with

Ahhhhh i remember this Track James....it was the one that just kinda Showed up on here already Done LOL....... One of the Great Ones!! I Hope you are getting as much enjoyment from it now as you did building it!!

I recall seeing that Track map somewhere also 2fer.........Now, to have that kind of room would be awesome.........That would be one very fun F1 track or LMP or etc etc.......This one is eminently a scenery mans delight.....About all I might add would be some type of water feature...Perhaps a Stream spilling over rocks from a hilside ending in a Pool between corners 9 & 10...This gives opportunity to utilize Bridges Or culvert work as one sees fit and perhaps put campsites in among the hillside where the stream spills down the rocks......small primitive grandstands to front the camping area's perhaps......Even just hinting at camp area's beyond the visual scenery and adding parking and perhaps a picnic area would give that primitive area feel which most large roadcourses have at some point along their length..

Everything else is already figured in...........Even if you had to compress this somewhat it would STILL be a great build although it would take awhile unless you had someone like a jmswm or Taxi or Bill or one of those super prolific track builders lending a hand.....Might take me a lifetime and a half to finish a project that size ........

I was at that track just this past weekend. The track is an airport circuit and was designed for the IZOD Indycar Series. The race was excellent by the way.

That's not too big, when compared to the stuff ASCC is doing. ;-)
That's a GREAT track, too. Elements of many different real world tracks. Love that pit lane as well. It looks like it's in some kind of community center. Talk about the perfect venue.

Hi all thanks for all your posts all your tracks are so great-minie will never be as good.

@FZSsemans-nice circuit-simple but effective.
@2FER SLOTS-nice track should be added to the F1 calander-shame SKY are stealing the TV rights

@Chip of FDSCvery nice track-your right too huge to maintain I think
@jmghF1-that track is incredible-I'm setting my sights slightly lower than that I think.

Keep the posts coming-I love looking at all your amazing circuits.

Thanks Joe
P.s Just started on the scenery for my track-Will post pictures soon!!!!!!!!!

I have to Agree with Montoya (Deane is it?? )

Taking Elements of real Racetracks for inspiration is great but since compression is the name of the game in modelling any type of REAL WORLD Scene, Choose those elements Wisely......

We cant get it all in our limited space so Getting those items you like best,,,(key word being YOU) is whats most important....Pleasing yourself comes first when it comes to asthetics....

Get the Track right, choose those elements You want and it will all fall together...........Try not to make a trackplan that requires cutting Holes in exterior walls if possible....Real snow is hard on electrical components
