I tried to change the pinion on my Scaly TVR T400R and the rod, that the pinion is on and is connected to the motor by a sping, bent like butter. According to the newly released service sheet it only is available as a single unit with the motor. I need a replacement (what, where to get and how much?) as I don't want to spend £10+ on a new motor unit. I've a call out with Adrian Norman but he has not been able to source something yet.

Ideas? Also how to attach it back on to the motor?

The Fly front motor springs should work fine Matt. I know Pendle at least, carries them in stock. They come in a pack of 2 and are easy to push on.

(New order ref) 79060 (Old order Ref) B60 SPRING COUPLING FOR MOTOR PROP SHAFT x2

Alternatively, use the CLEAN! end of a bic biro ink tube or similar, some of those ink inserts are a tight push fit.

I'm a little confused as to how the propshaft was bent. While trying to dislodge it from the spring? Or, installing the new pinion? If it was during the pinion install. Was the propshaft still attached to the motor with the spring?

Removed propshaft from spring and then installed (tried) a new pinion. Was a bit tight but the prop shaft bent. In then pulled the spring off the motor in digust thinking I'll just sloder another one on but I did not have a replacement prop in my bits.

Both Pendle and Adrian Norman have come up trumps. Bits are on there way so hopefully by w/e have two working TVRs.
