Howdy Funseekers,

I'm not a very violent type of guy, so I need some advice on gear lashing. Do I pull the gears out and slap them with a belt or just toss them in a blender and push puree?

What is Gear Lashing and how do you do it? What is the proper procedure to mesh your gears?

Thanks,
Kenny

Are you talking about getting the pinion to mesh better with the crown gear?

If so, I read somewhere that if your components are plastic, you could run the car on a test track and hold a lighted match a couple of cm under the running gears for a few seconds.

Sounds drastic, but I actually did this to my Fly Evo2 RS Porsche 911 GT1. The gears were not working to start with and after turning up the heat they were fine. It really helped.

I must add that common sense tells me that if you over do this you're stuffed.

I'm an idiot! I hate posting on so many boards. I can't remember where I posted what or where. Feel free to just lash me to some gears.

Thanks for all the replies,

Kenny
