It's too complicated and if you buy all these light kits, you'll easily spend more money on them than the car is actually worth. You could also run out of room in your slot car. My Fly Lister Storm is very tight for space now that it has a front and rear light kit in (front and rear is just one kit).

Yeah, it would, on GT3 on the PS2, you could be driving a Calsonic Skyline, slam the brakes on and then there's a superb yellow glow behind the wheel.
