Just ran my Scaley McLaren Merc SLR, i have had this car I think for about 15 years and finally replaced the knackered tyres. After 2 laps the pinion failed to connect to the contrate, I thought the driveshaft bearing had popped out. Upon opening up the car, the 2 halves of the pinion fell out! It had split completely in 2 halves. Not happy as I have older cars still on the original pinion.

Not happy the pinion failed after so short a life, I expect at least 20 years

Since when did 'Woke' not refer to waking up after sleeping? (And what is it's new stupid meaning?

Why does 'Gas Lighting' now mean something other then using a flammable gas to produce light? What does it mean now? And why are so many singletons falling for it?

Can't they just say they've been conned due to what I suspect is gullible stupidity instead of gas Lighting? This is the context I see this being reported in the papers.

As far as 'woke' is concerned, it seems quite difficult. I don't have an opinion on subjects I know little about and no inclination to post such on social media.

I've seen people push tube train doors open for their mates, nothing would surprise me in terms of stupidity on a train.
Years ago someone opened the front door of my bus whilst in motion, he smashed himself into a street sign and then legged it before I could say anything, apparently he wanted to smoke the spliff he just rolled on the back seat.

Theres more stupidity then we realise at times.

Unfortunately driving standards are rubbish at present, I saw someone nearly hit a cyclist by sticking the front of their car over the white line when turning out of a side road. They then become abusive when they see I'm not impressed by their stupidity (I'm on bus following cyclist).

I have seen Police vehicles cutting corners and sadly but thankfully very rarely abusing their lights and sirens to jump a queue or a red light.

Every day I am amazed at the stupidity I see on the roads (not just motorists either). Moped riders blatantly have no regard for their own safety and the highway code.

Dont do a brummie accent, just keep muttering and cursing about all the traffic you'll encounter as you join the M6 northbound at junction 8. Hopefully theres no longer a queue on the M6 at Junction 9 for IKEA but do tell everyone it will take you 2 hours just to get to junction 10.

I dont think Trisha is alone in an occasional tizzy with SWMBO. I got it in the neck for not mentioning exactly to the pound and pence what I paid to fix her car and often when I dont study the shopping list for every mark made with a pen.

Still, she did let me pre order another Scalextric car last week. 😀

Theres lots of people who would benefit from understanding about personal hygiene. Before Covid if you used a public or works loo you would see a number of people who failed to understand the hygiene benefits of washing their hands. Want to shake their hands?

Two blokes in a van have stopped me on my works vehicle (a big bus) to tell me a large spanner has dropped from under the rear bumper!! I don't know whether to laugh or be infuriated that it was left under the bonnet and could have broken something or hurt someone when it fell out.

I hated my car not having a spare tyre as I know how to change a wheel. 20 minutes getting dirty or a 1 hour wait for breakdown recovery? My car has space for a spare so I bought one and a tool kit and they reside happily under the carpet in the boot. Why build the space for a spare into the car but not put a spare there is annoying.

Sadly a lot of people prefer their phones to what they should be doing

I remember marshalling a few Sunday races at Wolves many many years ago, Phil Insull arranged 2 sunday races each year, mainly for LM cars but I do remember 1 for old touring cars. The only time I was delayed placing a car on the track was because the guide looked to have spun round 180 degrees, turned out it was correct and I was wrong. I'd never seen a guide with its post at the rear before.

I was referred to at work as "the sensible one". 🤬 due to 'issues'(thrown his toys out of pram) with the driver I was supposed to be 10 minutes behind but was in fact 10 metres in front of him. talk about insulting.
