Too many under the counter cross deals going on.
So if you know the tricks you're better off.
But they do their best to hide this stuff.

It could be true.I sometimes wonde rif I always got low bids on eBay for the stuff I was flogging because I was TOO honest ....
Don't think this is unique to anywhere. As a former trolley corraler I can tell you those things are made for fast driving... The parking lot we had to get the carts from was on a slight incline and you could ride the carts down use your feet to apply brakes to the rear wheels and steering the car where you had to go (American shopping carts' rear wheels are in a fixed position, you can do this on European ones but it takes more skill and flexibility)
But I agree, in general on the Continent I am completely unclear why they move they way they do. Let's say I am walking along with a cart in a supermarket and I am approaching an aisle that has a display poking out of the end of it, reducing the width of the aisle I am in by about 60 cm... well the Continental will try to go between me and the sticking out bit when there is at least 40% less space on that side!
I also cycle to work and no matter how much I ring my little dinga-ling (bell that is) people invariable act shocked, SHOCKED that a bike is on the BIKE PATH and if there are more than one of them they will always both try to go to the opposite side to get out of the way, I.e. crash into each other and blocking my path even more.
Luckily, this seems specific to Germany: When there are massive lines at the cash registers and a new one opens up the people in the back (who have waited the least or not at all) will mow down children, handicapped, old people and even animals to rush to the cash register that has opened up ....
In ll seriousness I think this is a big problem with society."Why are you laughing?" "One is 8 & one is 12"![]()
Anyway, my grump for the day is my step-daughter again. As I've mentioned before she works as a teaching assistant in a class of 10-y-os. Before she got the job, she was actually very level-headed for a millennial. Now she has turned into a proper snowflake who can't have a decent conversation/debate without filling it with quotations of the psychobabble that she gets trained with. Her mother and I have repeatedly asked her to leave her work head at the school gates, but the drivvel has become so in-grained that she now talks to everyone like they're 10-y-o. Just this weekend, we had a really embarrassing episode when her grand-parents were here. I won't give details because this is a public forum and what granddad and grandma were saying could be construed as very non-PC. Ten years ago, step-d would have been a willing participant in the conversation. Afterwards, when Wor Lass tried to ask step-d to be a bit more "adult" in her conversations with older people she got "No-one is allowed to say that kind of offensive stuff and get away with it!". When reminded that she is a guest in our house and she should respect the opinions of other guests (and us....), she stormed-off upstairs, stood in the shower crying (I was going to ask if she was standing there fully-clothed for the shower tray to catch her crocodile tears......) , and saying;- "They can't talk like that. Why are my family so hurtful?".
If you did you could pet her on hold and tell her all operators are busy but her call is really important to us.Did you get a call back at 4 minutes to 9 pm?
