after all the years of suffering being called a miserable old bar-steward by mrs zz , I am finally rejoicing that she has come round to my way of thinking. the source of this wonderment?... a newly found joint loathing of the foul phenomenon of otherwise seemingly intelligent individuals starting a sentence with the word "so"!!!! if you have been asked , "how do you propose to re-attach that button"? , or , "what method would you use to distribute seed in your garden" , fair enough but otherwise , nooooooooooo! other current hot favourites are "yoofs" with their kecks hanging out the top of their trousers and newly qualified drivers with a green p plate (clearly designating pillock) who refuse to commit to crossing a roundabout without having received a written invitation at least a fortnight in advance! what gets your hackles up?

How long before we hear wails of "oh, they didn't tell us that" from the woeful Brexiteers. Let you know my "passeport" application goes.
Hurrah!! love being on the winning side, but 7hrs of non-stop whinging fron the "stay in" club is really grinding my gears

Probably.

I have to be careful. I think it's probably the daftest decision that a nation not known for it's adaption to the modern world is likely to make.

My wife on the other hand........

There are a huge number of things I dislike about the EU. It reminds me of my first job. Local government....in at 9am - do a bit - lunch 11am to 3pm - do a bit - home at 5pm. However, without getting into all the constant arguments, it will be interesting to see how the guys that managed to persuade so many that this was a good idea, manage to tun it into one. One can but hope, my pension is watching.!
So the good news is Carrera / NSR etc cars will be more expensive & Hornby will have at least 10% hike in there export costs.
Who says there's nothing more important than playing with toy cars!
RTR cars with non-round wheels....
RTR cars with tyres that don't grip....
RTR cars that need £50 worth of Slot-it bits to make them work anywhere near decently....
People in non- english speaking islands (Isle of man) having any opinion that does not agree with mine!!!

and welcome to the GOGS slotcarmann

Some smarty pants has just put up a government petition to have a second referendum!! Apparently, get this , under EU rules, if a leave vote gets less than 60% with a turnout under 75%, another go please!!

Gentlemen, there are many places on t'internet where you may express your fervently held views on the EU referendum - this is not meant to be one of them. Please do not let this thread degenerate into a remain/leave slanging match or it will be locked. Lighthearted comments are fine but keep it civil please.
well if the "stay in's" want another thrashing so be it

all seems civil to me CMOTD, just a bit of banter!! and I have far to many importamt things to worry about rather than this . ie what tyres to get for my NSR audi

CMOTD - mine and teddyt's comments were mainly tongue in cheek, I believe....

Thanks teddyt, nothing personal you understand....

By way of explanation, we in the IoM have just watched Boris and Co decide our future....over which, as a British dependent territory, but not a part of the UK, we had no vote, hence no say, at all. Same in Channel Islands. Gib got a vote (96% in) but that didn't count for much, nor did NI's or Scots' vote. So....we watch powerless, more or less, with baited breath...!

Anyway, I need to focus on how this affects my slot car world....as no doubt it will.

Oh and I don't like plastic wheels on slot cars either....

Cheers
Dave

Yes, maybe but some other comments in the thread are not.
WOW you guys didnt get a vote!!! thats a bit off, as you say it will affect you so in my mind you should have got a choice. still I have at least learned something
uh-oh.... back to being a grump again! I'm now sick and fed up of that scottish woman* whinging and moaning and tripping over her bottom lip just because she doesn't want to play in our team but does want to play in theirs but her club doesn't have enough members to count!!!

*(not being derogatory to the scots..but you know who I mean & I cant bear to utter her name)
My biggest grump is I have too many projects and too little time because I'm not old enough to retire and will probably never be able to afford to retire and when I am old enough to retire my eyes won't be able to see well enough and my hands will be too shaky to execute my projects and my reactions will be shot so I won't be able to win races.

I guess that my other grump therefore has to be that in playing the lottery since the very first draw all I have won is about £100 - not enough to retire on.

Mind you when the EU collapses soon I could probably use the £100 to buy Belgium.
what would you blow the £95 change on then......??
ok....so that leaves you with £80. hard work spending all this money aint it?!!
I'd give it to boris Johnson ,so he can get himself a clue!!!
