GOGS...Grumpy Old Gits Society..

after all the years of suffering being called a miserable old bar-steward by mrs zz , I am finally rejoicing that she has come round to my way of thinking. the source of this wonderment?... a newly found joint loathing of the foul phenomenon of otherwise seemingly intelligent individuals starting a sentence with the word "so"!!!! if you have been asked , "how do you propose to re-attach that button"? , or , "what method would you use to distribute seed in your garden" , fair enough but otherwise , nooooooooooo! other current hot favourites are "yoofs" with their kecks hanging out the top of their trousers and newly qualified drivers with a green p plate (clearly designating pillock) who refuse to commit to crossing a roundabout without having received a written invitation at least a fortnight in advance! what gets your hackles up?

Dear GOGGS

I'm usually not affected by grumps but, as something some of this fine society members have frequently "grumped" about, insults to one's home country does.

Now I dont know what the current price for Belgium is (neither do the Belges) ...
...but I do know that even at yesterdays exchange rates a £100 would cover less than 48hrs parking your car in Holland.
And it may very well be that should todays developements of that exhange rate continue...
... dear mr Johnson would not be able to rent a bike for that money

with kind regards
Tamar

strewth mr modifier....looks like you are skint....bad luck mate. good job we will always have our sense of humour...and that's priceless!
Blimey! And we valued the Netherlands at 3x Belgium! I guess tongue-in-cheek banter doesn't cross borders so well.

No insults were intended. Better keep my £100 in the piggy bank then

If the exchange rate keeps falling, your £100 will only buy a couple of litres of fuel....

Sure it does, but when you enjoy it at the expense of my country... be prepared for a bit of

now we have smoothed things over with our European bretheren , I am undoubtedly about to upset 50% of the population and for this I unreservedly apologise but..... women , more specifically female hormones , there is some kind of serious evil going on there! anything that has the ability to turn a perfectly normal human being into a mono-syllabic , irrational , unreasonbable bag o' carp should be harnessed and used to power a small city!!
oh just the best!!!!
enjoying the long stony silences the most....only broken by the odd grunt.

after the appalling events in nice last night and the dire situation that all western countries face , would someone care to inform nottingham police exactly where their priorities should be .. its exactly this kind of [email protected] rubbish that gets my back up. hopefully we now finally have a pm with a big enough pair of balls to instruct her new home secretary to kick our police forces up the khyber and get on with some proper policing rather than pandering to this pathetic tosh!!!

Dunno Gordzz that does look OK to me....but you know when burgs go unsolved they have got to do something to earn their dollar.
There are times when life and death seem such a waste of time and energy, I could be in this society permanently. We had to say goodbye to one of our cats today. At least he made his 20th birthday, even if only by two days!

Poor old thing was almost blind, couldn't move much and his kidneys were going. Vet was very good and his end was peaceful - for him anyway - we were a bit upset.

So it's grumps for this evening at least

20 is a good innings though. our poor old boy was just short of that last year...knackered , senile , stinky and deaf but happy. it was the deafness that got him......run over and left with horrific injuries by some low-life vermin , no way for the poor old sod to go , mrszz was truly heartbroken! raise a glass and remember the tummy tickles!! (cats...not yours!)
We just buried him and planted a rose over him. And so life goes around!
Cats

If I find any more little oyster shaped gifts when I'm weeding the garden our neighbours cat may struggle in it's quest to reach 20.

Thinking on I wept like a five year old girl when our dog died see Marley & Me for the full effect.

progress..well supposed progress. we have a new "smart" tv...its that smart that by the time it fires up , connects to the inteweb , loads up whatever it is you want to watch I have seriously lost the inclination to watch whatever it was I wanted to watch in the first place. even waiting for the tube to "warm up" in the old days was quicker than this. progress....BAH!!!
