after all the years of suffering being called a miserable old bar-steward by mrs zz , I am finally rejoicing that she has come round to my way of thinking. the source of this wonderment?... a newly found joint loathing of the foul phenomenon of otherwise seemingly intelligent individuals starting a sentence with the word "so"!!!! if you have been asked , "how do you propose to re-attach that button"? , or , "what method would you use to distribute seed in your garden" , fair enough but otherwise , nooooooooooo! other current hot favourites are "yoofs" with their kecks hanging out the top of their trousers and newly qualified drivers with a green p plate (clearly designating pillock) who refuse to commit to crossing a roundabout without having received a written invitation at least a fortnight in advance! what gets your hackles up?

SUNBURN!!! Just got back from me hols in lovely Dorset.
used factor50 sunscreen and still got blooming burnt!!!!
After two days of unbelievably hot temperatures, we have had a nice overcast and temperate day today until........the skies opened and all the water up there fell at once! Totally overwhelmed the gutters so water started creeping up the back door cill and then..... the bloody wind started howling and drove the water against the - as yet - unsealed window above the kitchen so it got in that way instead and dripped all over the floor.

I like weather but there are times......

I like weather too...but the kind I like is normally somewhere else than wherever I happen to be! I'll never complain that its too hot but I knew it was warm a couple of days ago when I was stood holding a couple of pieces together that I had hot glued. normally it tacks off in a couple of seconds...instead it took ages!

done the flooding thing Gordon , not a good experience , we had 3' right through the house. hope you didn't have too much ingress?
Hi
Why oh why does every road builder think it's a good idea to make sure all of the manhole covers line up exactly with the driving line of the traffic, over time they all sink as they get battered daily by hgv's.

Build them into the centre of a lane, either way come an inspection or repair you close one side of the road with temporary lights anyway,or is this some sort of job creation scheme 😠

Just as were considering getting the pump in from the barn, it eased off and the water stopped just short of the back step. Ten minutes after that, the sun came out!

He likes weather he says.
ade...I duly appoint you head of traffic policy for the whole country.

gordon.. I do , I love weather , its always in the wrong place at the wrong time , that's all!!

Yippee, that's two things to switch on for!

Used to be essential viewing when I had a TV. Now we watch on line but still little worth watching sadly.

Diary note made for 9pm (GMT +1)
cant stand it , its full of grown men playing with toys!!

used to watch it but craig charles is such a ....er that I lost interest.

Deeply into grumpy territory this morning.

Our wunnerful all singing all dancing contactless debit card has been cloned and our bank account emptied. Good start.

Then...nine of our ten baby and three of our adult bunnies have just died. Took one body to the vet for a post mortem but there are no exterior signs so a bacteria of some kind we guess.

I was going to say 'not a happy bunny this morning'

Early brandy I think.
hope your account gets sorted Gordon and sorry to hear of the loss of your bunnies
(could food contamination be a issue?)
Thanks.

As one of the rabbits was in a separate cage in the garden, it has to be something in the food or that we have carried. I can understand the ones in close proximity being infected bit he was 100 yards away.

We will see if the vet comes up with an answer.
hold your breath for the next thing...carpness always comes in 3's!
Always looking on the bright side eh! Gordon

nope...that's why mrs zz is always calling me a miserable bar steward!

this week I am mostly getting really pee'd of with my increasing level of invisibility..well despite being the best part of 18 stone , kids old enough to wipe their own noses seem unable to see me in the street , judging by the amount of time they spend walking into me I really must be invisible. roll on the new school year!!!!!

.........and.... why is is it when you meet a doddery old fart (usually diving a micra or an aygo) on a single track road they always think they are doing a lovely job of stopping to allow you to pass.....IN THE NARROWEST PART OF THE E££ING ROAD....5 yards either way you could get a double decker through sideways but no , they have to stop where they think they can cause maximum chaos! my only consolation is that they are usually so old that they are bound to be deaf and therefore can lip-read my views about their parentage as I have to drag my nice paintwork through the obligatory brambles in the hedge!!

Not that I am looking to submit my CV for GOGS membership application, but feel compelled to say that Dara O'Brain adds as much to Robot Wars as Ginger Whinger did for Top Gear......
Phillipa Forrester or Rebecca Grant get my vote :)
I'm with you Woodingboys, the new Robot Wars isn't a patch on the old one. Robot Wars without Craig Charles is wrong and the new series is far too polished
