after all the years of suffering being called a miserable old bar-steward by mrs zz , I am finally rejoicing that she has come round to my way of thinking. the source of this wonderment?... a newly found joint loathing of the foul phenomenon of otherwise seemingly intelligent individuals starting a sentence with the word "so"!!!! if you have been asked , "how do you propose to re-attach that button"? , or , "what method would you use to distribute seed in your garden" , fair enough but otherwise , nooooooooooo! other current hot favourites are "yoofs" with their kecks hanging out the top of their trousers and newly qualified drivers with a green p plate (clearly designating pillock) who refuse to commit to crossing a roundabout without having received a written invitation at least a fortnight in advance! what gets your hackles up?

cyclists.

('nuff said!)
I recently found out that my son and daughter in law are pregnant and I'll be a grandfather for the 1st time in March. Everyone asks me if I'm excited by the news but I don't think I am. I think it's brought home to me how old I actually am. It doesn't make me grumpy as such but everytime someone asks me what I would like to be called, Grandad, grandpa, grandpop, Poppa and various other options, I think I'd like to be called Grumpy. I think I'd like that.
I love being called Poppa, my boys are great but even the eldest wontnhelp me change the youngests diaper.
How are they to learn if they dont participate in these fun things. Its a carppy job , but someone has to do it .
Just not me .
Bob

The damn stupid "Euthanasia" laws in this country. I have spent the last 5 days watching my father-in-law sucome the the evil that is caner!! at present , he is no more than a breathing corpse!!!!
Doctors say he may live till friday but they are not sure

How much longer do we have to watch loved ones suffer , when there is nothing but pain for them!1

I would have stopped my dog from having to suffer this yet, a human has to linger on with no choice

sorry guys just so p***ed off right now
Indeed, sorry to hear about this, I watched my sister go.

Hi Teddy, It's a highly contentious moral question which few of us could answer but be assured that many of us have asked the same questions at the bedside of our loved ones at times past and you have our sympathy with sharing this. Bryan B.

Settle for Grampy

You've got a few years to firm it up.

thanks chaps... my father-in-law passed away this morning, a relief for us all and him especially
Hi Teddy, I will go now and raise a wee glass of the scotch wishing you your family and yon man all the best now he is free. Bryan B.
thoughts with you teddy...the double edge sword of grief and relief. think its safe to say we have all been there at some point. my late stepfather was turned from a strong fit healthy man to a husk by cancer (and all the time the "gp" said it was depression!!)... we do have it all wrong in this country! chin up old boy!!

Lone,

Unless there is an underlying reason. Statistically if you have made it to 75 you are odds on to make it to 85. Seriously!
My old guy is 90!
