after all the years of suffering being called a miserable old bar-steward by mrs zz , I am finally rejoicing that she has come round to my way of thinking. the source of this wonderment?... a newly found joint loathing of the foul phenomenon of otherwise seemingly intelligent individuals starting a sentence with the word "so"!!!! if you have been asked , "how do you propose to re-attach that button"? , or , "what method would you use to distribute seed in your garden" , fair enough but otherwise , nooooooooooo! other current hot favourites are "yoofs" with their kecks hanging out the top of their trousers and newly qualified drivers with a green p plate (clearly designating pillock) who refuse to commit to crossing a roundabout without having received a written invitation at least a fortnight in advance! what gets your hackles up?

neighbours.... more specifically our neighbour. the #@*£ that lives next to us doesn't work , yet has enough money to stay permanently stoned and listen to reggae all day and then decides as nears time for us to be heading off to bed that its the prefect time to start chopping wood...which would be fine if it didn't sound like he was sat on our roof doing it!! one day...ONE DAY!!!!!!!!!
How do you make a Maltese Cross? The answer used to be "Poke him in the eye.

Apparently now it is "Criticise Lewis Hamilton"?
I represent that remark.
I suppose I should crawl on my belly like the dog I am and apologise from the heart of my bottom for daring to have an opinion on anything (or anyone) but as I've just unilaterally declared it as " I really don't give a rats ass day" I don't think I'll bother!

my worst grump is charities that have become dependant on shaming us into sending them money,

charities that suggest give a donation to us as a present to your children ,,, really would love to see that child on christmas day, didnt buy you that new bicycle you so desired instead we donated the money to a charity you have never heard of

or even leave us a donation in your will, stuff your well mannered deserving children and just send us your life savings instead, after all you will be dead so wont see us squander it

but my worst charity option is bandwagon jumping, movember, stoptember, and the lastest one christmas jumper day, (December 16 by the way)

just stop bombarding us with begging events go back to letting us decide who is deserving of our money

its ONLY £10 a month................ or £2000000+ if you send ONLY £10 to every registered charity in just the uk

I am not saying there are no deserving causes its just the demanding way they are starting to impose themselves on our normal daily lives

It's the 70% administration charges that get me. How much do the beneficiaries actually get?? Bugger all basically.
need to tread carefully here...but umm...someone I know resigned from a charity as they were unable to "advance their career" with the organisation without relocating to London , that's charities for you! I am a grump and a stooge and (if you belive mrs zz) a generally miserable old sod but you are better off supporting your local kids hospice or donkey sanctuary or whatever but one that is on your doorstep so you know the money you donate is going to be used where you want it to be!
Great way to make a living though. You ask people for money, take a cut and pass on the balance. Nothing to create or make. All you need is a bit of marketing bluster and no doubt, a thick skin.
QUOTE my worst grump is charities

May we add to that NGO's.? Who try to "blackmail" large corporations like Kellogs or Nestle or... by claiming that underage children whose parents have no money are helping out working in agriculture to add to the family income, in underdeveloped countries. They do this from the comfort of a nice office in London or New York or.. whilst having a career and a salary and a house and...

For sake of argument let's call them amnesty international.
or so called "spokesmen for the people" , which translates as "over-inflated gobsh#tes" who actually represent the views of approx. 0.0002% of the population!
Is it just my time-of-life, or does technology (which is supposed to make life easier, right??) actually make life more complicated?

My doctors surgery now wants me to order my repeat prescriptions by leaving a message on their answering machine. The line is constantly engaged, and when I went in to the surgery I got "I'll take it this time but we prefer you to leave a message". Well, make sure the system works then!
My Bank wants me to pay-in by using a giant ATM-jobby which even accepts coins and cheques. The queue was as long at the machine as at the tills with cashiers, and in fact the cashiers are quicker than the machine.
I suppose in a minute there won't be any cashiers at all.
In Sainsbury's cafe, while Wor Lass was doing the shopping, the queue got longer and longer as 3 people all had issues with their contactless and/or 'phone payments.
What ever happened to good old cash.

Am I the only person alive who is bothered that society is losing the personal touch?

no ...you aren't!!

when they make technology that actually works and makes life earier/better I'll embrace it but 'till then it can kiss my tail!! we've got a "smart" tv that takes longer to warm up and get going than an old valve tv...a local phone mast that goes on holiday for a couple of days every 6-8 weeks...and an all singing & dancing fibre broadband interweb wifi box thing that only works when it feels like it. technology....bah humbug!!!
Just been banned fro Home World Racing. You guys are wimps. I am a GOD.
