after all the years of suffering being called a miserable old bar-steward by mrs zz , I am finally rejoicing that she has come round to my way of thinking. the source of this wonderment?... a newly found joint loathing of the foul phenomenon of otherwise seemingly intelligent individuals starting a sentence with the word "so"!!!! if you have been asked , "how do you propose to re-attach that button"? , or , "what method would you use to distribute seed in your garden" , fair enough but otherwise , nooooooooooo! other current hot favourites are "yoofs" with their kecks hanging out the top of their trousers and newly qualified drivers with a green p plate (clearly designating pillock) who refuse to commit to crossing a roundabout without having received a written invitation at least a fortnight in advance! what gets your hackles up?

It’s not the natives of the Amazon that are destroying the forest but their (previous) government which relaxed logging restrictions in order to personally profit. **** sapiens is now a parasitic species and the earth is trying to rid itself of us. Good luck I say.
Year 5 might like to contemplate that 96% of earth’s non-plant biomass is either human or domesticated animals.

Curious innit that in our current woke LGBT+ tolerant awareness condition, the word should be regarded as something derogatory and to be expunged? It’s not AI that’s the culprit, someone with old fashioned prejudices has had to program this. Not Ersatz Sapiens but rather H. Gormless.

Just popped over to Auslot on my rounds and noticed in the profile settings there's 'gender' with 'male' as the choice...so off I go to the profile settings and given a choice of 'male' 'female' 'not telling'

...now apparently 'gender' isn't as simple any more, as we found out recently when a drag queen visited a local school, asking the kids how many genders there were, the kids said two...and were 'corrected' by being told 'there's 74'...one child who didn't accept this questioned the 'teacher' and was told to leave the classroom.

We had a censlus here in NZ last evening and there seemed to be a few too many questions relating to gender. Seems we get too many options these days. Doesn't seem to be so long ago there was a man and a rib.

Tricky subject this, treading on eggs, having taught a few pupils with gender transitions over the last few years, we now have a teacher who was biologically created with dangly bits, now that person has to be addressed by pupils as teacher V, not sir or miss, I haven't yet found out which toilets that teacher will be using.

Blimey I'm worn out. Got my new uniform today to last me the next 2 years. I like to get it to last as long as possible. Sadly ties don't wear out (proper ties, no clip ons thank you), I must have my 5 previous ties. Over the past 10 years the quality of our uniform has improved so it lasts longer then 2 years. I only open new items when I need to. The shoes are brilliant and last about 2.5 years or longer, sadly the laces are only good for 18months. My grump is that I have nowhere to store my new uniform until i need to open it. It used to be supplied on handy coat hangers but the accountants must have said its too expensive this year so it's still got the plastic packaging but no hooks to hang it up for the next 2 years until I need it.

Thats wrong, broke my phone on Thursday, new one came today. It demanded a gender before moving on. Male, Female, Other. So there is just three! (in the world of Samsung...)

Throughout my adult life, I have been a firm believer that "holidays" should be just that:- Time away from "the daily grind" doing something different and enjoyable. To both Wor Lass and I, that is travelling, sightseeing - having a break from caring for, and enforced socialising with, family.

Step-son has been on the blower. He, the angry Ukrainian, and her parents, are renting a cottage in the Lake District for a week in April. Will we join them??

Wor Lass has already agreed to travel to spend the four days over Easter with them at their home. .......And they want to get together again for a holiday just two weeks later?

What is the matter with people?? Since the announcement, at Christmas, of the impending arrival of the next generation, we have already spent more time with them than we did in any given six month period of last year (or any other year, come to that). Why can't they leave us alone to enjoy our retirement in the way we want to? I fear that it won't be long before attempts at coercion to care for their offspring while they gallivant start.
