My wife thinks I have more than the average amount of Neanderthal genes.

Well, current research indicates that the Neanderthals were "excellent tool makers" 😎

Perhaps their DNA is still prevalent in slot-car makers / racers? 😜

Thats wrong, broke my phone on Thursday, new one came today. It demanded a gender before moving on. Male, Female, Other. So there is just three! (in the world of Samsung...)
Maybe click other to reveal many more options 🤣.

In the meantime i have had offer from my local GP to make an appoitment for cholesterol check along with blood pressure , i was thinking of ringing up, but....

The offer is more about data collection. My birth certificate states place of birth and other things , but now im invited to confirm my Ethnicity, Colour, Height, Weight 🤮🤮.

The above questions raised my blood pressure so thats one of the health questions checked off the list and Cholesterol i have no interest in knowing, im happy with my diet thanks 😉.

Below, a section of a typically modern door. The internal structure is made of paper, with intermittent apertures aimed at increasing insulation and saving on heating bills. I recently bought a new front door for my step-daughter's house, as the old one was rotting.

The bill was an equally rotten £1,200 - for a door! Rip-off Britain is alive and kicking. Unbelievable or am I just out of touch?

It's going to be a bit draughty with that chunk cut out of it...or is the doorway a funny shape?

...I'd like to see how fire resistant that paper 'infill' is.

Can’t believe you missed it Laurence! The spaces are for hiding slot cars inside the door(yes you won’t see them or play with them, but neither Mrs Grumpy and you’ll know they are there 😉!). At the end your are having the last laugh as someone someday may find a heavy door full of black Beetles! 😀

Why do suppliers waste time, energy, money and packaging?

Grumpy with Hornby today. Tuesday I received three notifications of pre-orders, non slot related, coming in to stock and three separate charges on my card. Thursday I got an expecting you're parcel email from the carrier and then got two more yesterday advising me that I would get a further email when it was out for delivery. This morning I had an email advising that delivery would be this afternoon. The parcel arrived, in the allotted time slot, and on taking it from the carrier it felt very light. On opening the package it contained just one item wrapped in loads of bubble wrap and this was the last item advised and charged. On further checking each item appears to have a separate package number, three items advised as available within two hours of each other and three separate parcels, why?. The outer box todays delivery came in was big enough to take all three items. What a total waste of packing and time. To make matters worse the other two parcels aren't even show as having been picked up yet so I bet they decide to deliver when I' not going to be at home.
