Wor Lass refuses to turn predictive texting off, and doesn't always check what word it changes what she's typed to. She once sent a text to a clergyman with the word "porn" in.That's spell check for you.
I once wrote "duck" three time and it changed it to goose
(That might be a North American thing...)
The fact that they send two of everything annoys as well. To add to the annoyance, the French lot do it all again twice this end. Both notices come down together!Ebay emails everyday telling me my Scaley XKR is on its way from England. I know it is … I bought it. Telling me when it leaves is OK and I'll know when it arrives. And all because of their Global Shi**ing Program … well … I'm almost tempted to block eBay emails but I do like to know when something in a saved search shows up.
It's a worrying trend. What the population at large really thinks has barely changed, but those thoughts are being expressed more privately. Many shy away from expressing strong opinions for fear of being labelled an 'ist of one sort or another by the shouty, intolerant, every-opinion-other-than-mine-is-wrong, self-righteous minority who've been given an overly loud voice by the advent of social media and the internet. Trial by mob. Guilty, but of nothing more serious than holding and expressing an unpopular view.I do wonder where this 'the way I do it is the only right way' bit comes from. It seems everywhere.
Simple........ Refuse to bow to their demands. Vive la revolution! The best way to beat bullies - which is most definitely what the "self-righteous minority" are - is, and always has been, to stand-up to them.how do we revolt against the mob?
Whilst that is probably true, it's the people whose views are so rigid that nothing will even dent them that get me.My conclusion is that it is VERY easy to think you are always right when you get fed nothing but info that supports your point of view.
