I finally got around to building this wonderful kit, released by Graham of GP-Miniatures, it's been lying about for over a year.
I wanted to get a bit of building experience before I tackled it. The tail end was angled down a bit using heat from a 60W lighy bulb, as suggested by Graham. A lot of material was removed from the inside of the body, the outside was perfectly finished, just clean the surface and apply the colours. A bit thought has gone into the colour scheme - many shades of blue, orange and brown, and the clear coat on top is Tamiya pearl. The chassis & wheels are Cartrix Classic - very similar to the PCS 32.
Hope you like it.

I added my liking for your car on another forum but I noticed your balsa interior tray.
My advice is to paint the underside to seal the balsa....other wise it will act like a sponge and suck up any oil or track crud and then look horrible.

I do like the colours you have used, especially around the driver....

The whole package is sweet....a really nice car which is all I see from Mr Balsa...really nice cars !

Thanks John - that is nice to hear, and a good tip about the wood.
I recall you did a really good looking Ferrari 166 with a wooden (popsicle stick?) chassis a while ago. Balsawood is even softer and lighter so painting it is a good idea. I use balsa blocks for mounting post as well, but try to pick harder pieces for those, and then line them with styrene sheet for durability.

Maybe I was telling you something that you already knew or you were going to do anyway...sorry if that was the case.

I have used small blocks of wood as well. I think it was pine or spruce.
A friend who was into R/C planes gave me a length of it.
This can work well but lately I have been using plastic tube with gussets from popsicle sticks.
Superglue is my friend here.

Regards

ps for some reason I thought you were in the US
