Having spent 4 weeks on Jersey then 4 weeks on Guernsey studying local waters prior to taking command of Condor's 86m fast craft I found little of interest in the slot car world on either Island. Ebay and easy access to internet shops has meant Islanders buy most of thier requirements online. Sorry to be pesamistic WRT your thread but my hopes were high and soon dashed.
Maybe you wil be more fortunate

Dammit Steve...........I went to Jersey a few weeks ago. If I had known you were on board I would have come looking for you. At least you could have explained to me how they pack those craft, mighty impressive if a little disorienting for a first-timer like me. Very strange to be pointing uphill and the opposite direction to the car that was 2 places behind me on the quayside..........
Oh.....and I didn't see any slot shops on Jersey, but then I wasn't really looking for one. A rare chance to get a few days without wall-to-wall slot cars for me............(girlfriend would disagree, following a lunch meeting with John at MRRC that lasted until after 11pm.......he he)
