One of my cars with F1 Scaley ssd chip installed runs at half throttle just fine. As soon as speed is increased beyond half throttle, the motor stops. This takes place on analog as well as digital tracks. When the motor is disconnected and run independently, it runs fine all the way to full throttle; so, the problem is elsewhere. I have also resoldered all the connections at least once just to be sure. Any ideas out there?
I would guess that you have a chip that is starting to fail, overheating under power. It would be tricky to isolate to a component, but likely to be the drive transistors.
And it was the chip after all. Thank you RikoRocket.
Can't complain, however. After chipping some 30 cars, this was only the second chip to go bad.
