Hi guys,

It is probablly my imagination but it seems to me that slot cars seem to go quite a bit quicker around the track when the motors have warmed up.I perceive this especially with SCX.
Or is it because I get used to the handling characteristics of a particular car after a number of laps and am able to push it quicker?

Please tell me if I am loosing it!

Regards
bryan

Both your hypothesis are correct. When motor warms up, max rpm increase and it is also true that your driving performance improves after a number of laps

I have 20-odd SCX cars, and most of them take a while to warm-up - anything up to 200mtrs/1min30sec. It seems to be worst on the ones with RX41 or 81 motors. The 42/81B/91/Pro motors are nowhere near as bad and my Ninco, Team Slot, Spirit, Fly and Scalextric cars don't seem to display the "slow start" tendancy at all.

So, no, IMO you're hallucinating.

Ooops! That should be "you're NOT hallucinating".
