The 30+ year old Hawthorne Park Club track will under-go an extensive refurbishment over the summer with work commencing Friday 13th July (unlucky for some, but hopefully not for us!)

Work will include a full re-wiring of the track, replacing the copper tape and removing old adhesive, leveling the joints on the track and filling some of them in for smoother running, installing a light bridge to count the laps replacing our "dead spot" which has done good service on the track over the years, but is starting to fail. One final option is re-painting the track and applying a new surface to it. (not confirmed yet)

These neccesary refurbishments will extend the life of the track and improve the racing for club members and visitors. We will keep you updated with pictures etc when work is underway and we hope to be finished 3-4 weeks after the work commences. The club is really excited about these improvements and the track will be in a better condition in preperation for our Trans Am meeting on 15/16th September this year and for members to enjoy more reliable and consistent racing
