If your controller cannot cope with undetermined / reversed polarity then please do not use it at the Championship Launch on 19/02/2012 or Rounds 3 & 4 on 06/05/2012 at Bearwood Scalextric Club as this may cause damage to your throttle electronics.

one (eg Parma Economy, etc).
Bulletin 5: Championship Awards (Including an Under 16's Junior Championship).

Overall Championship award trophies will be presented at the conclusion of the championship to 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall.

Points scored in the Under 16's Junior Championship will not count towards the overall championship and will be "ring fenced" to the Under 16's Championship totals only.

Trophies in the Under 16's Junior Championship will be awarded to 1st and 2nd overall only.

Bulletin 7: Oaklands Park Grand Prix under threat.

Recent messages on SlotForum indicate that the Oaklands Park Grand Prix my be under threat following the upsetting news that their building has been condemmed by the landlord.

Oaklands Park is an amazing circuit and its potential loss to the slot racing world will be nothing less than an tragedy.

We are waiting to hear further news at this point. Watch this space for further details.

Bulletin 10: Johnson E111 Supplier found.

Some exciting news for those of you needing to replace Johnson E111 motors to comply with the "Johnson Formula".

Fellow SlotForum member "scaleslotcars" has very kindly agreed to act as "official engine supplier" to the championship.

Motors cost a very reasonable price as follows:

£3.00 (+ P&P) for motors without heat sinks.

£5.00 (+ P&P) for motors with heat sinks.

Payment can be made via paypal.

Either motor is eligible for the championship regulations.

Please contact "scaleslotcars" directly via this forum to make your purchases.

As you can see he has plenty of stock (+ another box full just like this one!)

Please note that if you wish to source your replacement/repair/spare motors elsewhere you are free to do so.

Just to confirm that if anyone wants motors to PM me.

Also picture below shows the difference between the two types, on the left is the one without heat sinks and on the right with the heat sinks.

I have a limited supply of the motors with heat sinks as probably 90% of what I have is the earlier version.

Bulletin 12: Programme of Events and Final Instructions for Launch/Test/Race day at Bearwood Scalextric Club 19/02/2012.

The purpose of the day is to allow potential championship competitors to test their cars (Grand Prix Slot Cars 1970-80)
followed up by a friendly/social non championship race day to assess the viability of the "Johnson Formula" Car Regulations.
and levels of interest.

Doors open at 10:30am on Sunday 19th February 2012.

Please park your vehicles in the main Leisure Centre Car Park at Hadley Stadium. See link for location details and map.

Please use B66 4NL for sat nav directions as the centre entrance is located off Wilson Road, Smethwick.

Report to the main Hadley Stadium leisure centre reception and you will be directed to Bearwood Raceway by the leisure centre staff.

Programme:

Cost: Entry to the test day costs just £4.00 and the proceeds raised will pay for the trophies at Round 1&2 of the Championship at Wolverhampton in March.

Catering: Food and Hot/cold drink is available at the very modest price of £1.00, kindly provided by Graham Pritchard.

Scruteneering: Your cars will be scruteneered to establish their compliance with the "Johnson Formula". This will include taking width measurements of the cars plus a rolling road motor speed check.

Please feel free to bring as many cars as you would like to test.

Drivers Briefing: Ian Howard will welcome all attendees and explain the format of the championship and the programme of events for the day.

Free Practice (1 - 1-1/2 hours): Groups of 4 drivers will rotate at periods of 5 minutes to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to test their cars. When you are not testing it would be very much appreciated if you would marshal on the circuit.

Race meeting: At a mutually agreeable point in the day those drivers interested in competing in a NON CHAMPIONSHIP RACE may do so.

Additional testing will be allowed after the end of racing until close of play.

Please bring only a small toolbox of spares as space will be at a premium given the numbers of attendees.

May I thank you all in advance for supporting this new championship and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Ian Howard (Championship Organiser).

No mistake here "Slotcars"!

I took delivery of the 6 motors that you sent me today (very quick delivery by the way, excellent service) and they are all absolute screamers!

When I tested them on my powerpack one of them nearly took my arm off!

I've installed one of them into a Shadow DN1 to test tomorrow!

I'm really pleased with them, many thanks!

Just a quick post to let you know that the Shadow DN1 that I tested at the Launch of the F1 Championship was an absolute screamer with the motor supplied by "Slotcars"!

All I've got to do now is develop a modicum of talent to keep it on the road!

A small amount of weight over the guide will help too . . . . . .

I'm going to be installing some of the other motors that I bought from "Slotcars" into my T4 Ferrari, and Wolf WR1.

One thing is for sure, you get a lot of "bang" for your £3.00 "buck!"

Full report on the F1 launch day (which was a resounding success) to follow later on today.
