Looking at Ian's rules I think you should glue a 3mm tube in place to mount the front axle, get a decent set of tyres and glue and true them, anything on top of that and you run the risk of making the car worse than it is already, but there are people who no far more about setting these cars up than me (so listen to their advice)

QUOTE (LeeH @ 21 Mar 2012, 15:52) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>O god getting confused never done much setting up cars tbh

In the next couple of weeks I'm building a Tyrrell 007 for Bearwood racer Jonathan Davies.

When I come to setting up the front axle tube (1/8" diameter tubing is the best as the internal bore is 3/32" i.e. the same diameter as the steel axle) I'll do a step by step "how to axle tube" for competitors to follow.

Its really simple, very cheap to do and improves the handling beyond recognition!

Ok?

QUOTE (LeeH @ 21 Mar 2012, 16:14) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You able to build me one so got 2 cars?

Lee

I'd like to help you out but I'm stacked out with other projects at the moment and the Tyrrell that I'm building is to help out a junior member to encourage him in the hobby a bit.

Hope you understand?

Its very flattering to be asked though!

Besides which your Lotus 72 would be a very welcome addition to the competion.

My 72 runs a treat with an axle tube, yours should too!

All the best.
