You can probably get Slot.it or NSR parts to suit, but it all adds up if you have to buy axles (if the GT1s have knurled axles you'll have to replace them to fit the after-market parts), gears, wheels and inserts four times over. Basically high gear ratios suits twistier circuits where one is accelerating from corner to corner, at the expense of top speed, whereas the opposite is true for long sweeping tracks. From my experience (running an amateur club in Dunsfold a few years ago) racers are happy so long as the cars you supply them are equivalent.
