Hi all you super model makers,

I am looking for some one to build me a holder for my RichG lap display

Ideally I would like something along the lines of Savages

But with it sitting on top of some pit buildings as part of the control tower / pit lane area

Something along the line of this lifted from Glovemans track

But not on his scale possibly using 2 of the red door units with the tower in the middle but instead of the window part and podium that is where the lap display and pit game are housed ?

Now is there anyone that would be able and willing to build one or point me in the direction of where I can get the pre done parts to make it ?

And what sort of cost are we looking at ? I have the lap display and pit pro already

Or it is it pretty easy to do but I have never done any modelling at all so I was thinking this might be a bit to much as a first project ?

By chance im building that exact pit-structure for a client and would be happy to build your project for you. However I live far away
If you were inclined we might build along ,these structures and plans borrow from scalextric race accessories sets and you can combine and modify them to your own buildings to create what you need.

Sounds like a "co-op" development to me!
It would be interesting to see what you gentlemen come up with.

Cheers!

Hi guy's, probably a little off topic (sorry), but how hard is it to construct these lap boards, & do they only work with digital tracks with the pitlane game? I'm a little handy with a soldering iron, & figure I may give it a shot to throw one together. Don't have the pitlane game & probably don't intend to buy one so just want to make sure I'm not wasting my time.

The electronics are a complex bit of engineering, with both a well designed circuit board and cleverly programmed firmware in a solid state device. It is only compatible with the original SSD 6 car base, C7030, and cannot be used with a 4 car base or the new 6 car base, C7042. Pit lane stuff is wholly separate and so the presence or lack of fancy pit lane stuff has no bearing on the functions of the Lap Display.

Since it would be considerably more expensive, not only in parts but in time, to design, program, and construct one, your best bet is to contact RichG to see if he has any left, or to watch ebay for people selling theirs who've moved to the C7042 base and can no longer use their Lap Display.

Thanks for the explanation MrFlippant, saves me wasting a whole bunch of time. Have the C7042 base myself, so good to know it's not compatible before starting to put time into a lost cause.
Dont really like the look of the tower on the new APB, too toy like. Want something to resemble a real track tower so may start work on trying to disguise Scaleys version.

Thanks again & apologies for the slow response, have been away for work & other things unfortunately
take priority.
